Description

Bijou de Mer Beauté Invariante The Serum Essence 50 ml — Toner, Serum and Eye Care in One

Overview

A 50 ml Japanese essence from BIJOU DE MER (RECORESERUM), positioned by the maker as toner, serum and eye cream in one bottle. JAN 4580069581451. Classification: 化粧品, a cosmetic.

What the old page said, and what it said two sentences later

Our previous description listed as a benefit: "Increased effectiveness of penetration into the dermis." Two sentences further down, the same page said the essence "penetrates deeply into stratum corneum."

Those are not two ways of saying one thing. A cosmetic sold in Japan may act on the stratum corneum — the outermost layer — and no deeper. Claiming penetration into the dermis is claiming to be a drug. The page contradicted itself, and one of the two halves was the compliant one. We kept that half and struck the other.

Three more claims are gone. "Natural beauty without injections" — an explicit comparison with a medical procedure. "Eliminates dark circles" — a cosmetic does not eliminate dark circles. "Instant anti-aging and lifting effect" — "lifting" survives here only as a description of immediate cosmetic appearance, which is what a film-forming essence actually does; "anti-aging" as a physiological claim does not.

And one removal that is about your safety rather than about wording: the old page said the product is made "without preservatives". This is a 50 ml aqueous essence sold and stored at room temperature. An unpreserved aqueous cosmetic is a microbiological problem, not a selling point, and the claim was unsourced. Removed.

More serums and essences are in Face Care.

Key Benefits

  • Three steps in one bottle — the maker positions it as toner, serum and eye care; whether that suits you depends on your routine, and the Who Is This For section works through it
  • Nanoliposome encapsulation — a real formulation technique, described here for what it does: stabilises oxidation-prone actives, reduces irritation, and improves delivery across the stratum corneum
  • 50 ml in a format where 30 ml is common
  • JAN 4580069581451 printed on the page so you can verify what arrives
  • Sirtalice™, the maker's own marine complex, named without us inventing a description for it
  • Honest about the gaps — no full INCI is published and this page says so rather than assembling one

Who Is This For?

  • People who want to shorten a routine rather than extend it. The maker positions this as three products in one, and that is a real benefit if your current routine is toner plus serum plus eye cream and you often skip the last two.
  • Anyone who finds heavy eye creams too rich and would rather use the same light essence around the eye.
  • People who prefer an aqueous essence to an oil or a cream, particularly in a humid summer.
  • Think twice if: your routine is already working and each step is doing a job — combining three steps into one means accepting one concentration for three different areas. And if you need a full ingredient list before buying: the maker does not publish one, which we would rather you knew now.

How to Use

  1. Use it on clean skin, morning and evening, after cleansing.
  2. Dispense two to three drops into the palm and press — do not rub — over the face.
  3. For the eye area, take a smaller amount on the ring finger and tap it gently around the orbital bone. Do not drag the skin.
  4. Let it settle for a few seconds before anything else goes on top.
  5. Follow with sunscreen in the morning. An essence is not a substitute for one.

Frequency: Twice a day, morning and evening.

Full Ingredients

No full INCI list is published for this product anywhere we could reach, and this page does not print one. What the maker's material names, and what we therefore name:

  • Sirtalice™ — the maker's trademarked complex, described on the maker's side as based on marine ingredients. On the live page that sentence was cut off mid-clause in the HTML. We have not completed it for them: the card names the complex and does not describe what it does, because we could not find a maker publication that says.
  • Nanoliposome encapsulation — this is the most defensible content on the original page and it stays. Liposomal encapsulation is a real and well-understood formulation technique, and the three benefits claimed for it are reasonable as a description of the technique: it stabilises actives that oxidise, it can reduce irritation, and it improves delivery across the stratum corneum. That last one is stated at the stratum corneum here, which is where the old page's "into the dermis" should have said.

If you have a known cosmetic allergy, ask us before ordering and we will photograph the ingredient panel and the period-after-opening symbol on the box.

Cautions

  • Patch-test before first use, on the inner forearm or behind the ear, and again before you first use it around the eye.
  • Keep out of the eyes themselves. Apply around the orbital bone, not on the lid margin.
  • Do not use on broken, sunburned or actively irritated skin.
  • Press it in; do not rub or drag, particularly around the eye where the skin is thinnest.
  • On shelf life: our earlier description claimed this product contains no preservatives. We removed that claim because we could not source it, and because an unpreserved aqueous cosmetic at room temperature would be a problem rather than a feature. If the maker does formulate it without preservatives there will be a stated period after opening on the box — ask us and we will photograph it before dispatch.
  • Keep the dropper or nozzle from touching the face, and close the bottle after use.
  • Discontinue if redness, stinging, itching or swelling appears, and seek advice if it does not settle.
  • Wear sunscreen during the day. This is an essence, not a sun protection product.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperature.

FAQ

Does it reach the dermis?

No, and no cosmetic may claim to. Our previous description said "increased effectiveness of penetration into the dermis" and then, two sentences later, said the essence "penetrates deeply into stratum corneum". The second sentence was the correct one. A Japanese cosmetic acts on the stratum corneum, the outermost layer, and no deeper — anything beyond that is a drug claim.

Will it get rid of dark circles?

No. That claim was on the live page and is gone. Dark circles have several different causes — pigment, vascular shadow, hollowing — and a topical essence does not eliminate any of them. It can make the skin look smoother and better hydrated, which changes how light falls on the area.

Is it really preservative-free?

We do not know, and we removed the claim. This is a 50 ml water-based essence sold at room temperature; an unpreserved formula of that kind would be a microbiological risk rather than a benefit. If the maker does formulate it without preservatives, the box will carry a period-after-opening figure. Ask us and we will photograph it before dispatch.

Can it really replace my toner, serum and eye cream?

The maker positions it that way, and whether it works for you depends on your routine rather than on the product. If you currently skip steps because there are too many, one bottle doing three jobs is a genuine improvement. If each of your three steps is doing something specific, combining them means accepting one formula at one concentration for three different areas.

What is Sirtalice?

A trademarked complex of the maker's, described on their side as marine-based. We could not find a maker publication explaining what it does, so this page names it and stops there. On the live page the sentence describing it was cut off mid-clause in the HTML, and we did not finish it for them.
