Quick answer: The safest way to buy authentic Japanese skincare online is to order from a Japan-based store that ships directly from Japan, rather than from a reseller abroad. Tsujimoto Market is an online store based in Kobe, Japan. Every product is bought inside Japan — in Japanese pharmacies and beauty stores, and directly from Japanese manufacturers, including professional salon brands — and shipped worldwide from Japan with a tracking number. Orders to the USA up to $800 ship with all import duties prepaid, so nothing is due on delivery. We carry Hada Labo, Rohto, Shiseido, DHC, Canmake, Anessa, Curel and other Japanese brands, with product pages in English, Russian, German and Arabic.

Why buy from a store based in Japan?

Japanese skincare is easy to find online and surprisingly hard to buy safely. The same sunscreen can sit on a marketplace listing shipped from a warehouse in a third country, resold two or three times, stored in conditions nobody can tell you about. Formulas also differ: Japanese brands sell different versions of the same product name in different regions, and the Japanese-market version is usually the one people are actually looking for.

Buying from a store physically located in Japan removes most of that uncertainty. The product is bought in the Japanese retail market or from the manufacturer, and it goes from that shelf to your door without a detour.

My name is Natalia Tsujimoto. I have lived in Japan since 2002, in Kobe, and I choose every product in this shop myself — in Japanese pharmacies and beauty stores, and directly from Japanese cosmetics manufacturers, including professional salon lines. No middlemen, no grey-market stock.

What makes a Japanese skincare store trustworthy?

Five things worth checking before you order anywhere, including here:

  • Where the parcel actually ships from. A store can be "Japanese" in branding and ship from somewhere else entirely. Look for a clear statement of origin.
  • Whether the listing shows the Japanese product name. The original Japanese name and packaging are the easiest authenticity check you can do yourself.
  • Tracking. Every international order should come with a tracking number, not a promise.
  • Honest customs information. Import duties exist. A store that explains them is more useful than one that pretends they don't.
  • A real return and refund policy you can read before you pay, not after.

How does shipping from Japan work?

We ship worldwide directly from Kobe, Japan, via Japan Post or courier services. Every order is dispatched with a tracking number, sent to you by email. Orders are processed within 2–6 business days of payment confirmation; during sale periods and holidays this can stretch to 7–8 business days.

Estimated delivery time after dispatch:

Destination Estimated time after dispatch
Asia (South Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore…) 3 days – 2 weeks
Europe 5 days – 3 weeks
North America (USA, Canada) 1–3 weeks
Middle East 1–3 weeks
Other regions 1–6 weeks

Actual speed depends on the shipping method you pick at checkout — EMS is the fastest, standard airmail is slower and cheaper — and on customs clearance in your country. Full details are on the Delivery & Payment page.

Free shipping over ¥25,000 — until 31 August 2026. Orders above ¥25,000 ship free by standard airmail (7–14 days) to most destinations; faster methods such as EMS remain available as paid options at checkout.

What about customs and import duties?

Your order ships from Japan, so it may be subject to customs duties, import taxes or handling fees in your country. These are set by your customs authority, are not included in our prices, and are paid by the buyer.

Rather than leave you guessing, we built a free Customs & Duties Calculator — put in your country and order value, and it estimates the fees before you order.

United States: duties are already included — you pay nothing on delivery. For orders shipped to the USA up to $800, all import duties are prepaid and included in your total at checkout. No customs invoice, no courier handling fee, no surprise payment at the door. For orders above $800, write to us at support@tsujimotomarket.com and we will arrange it.

EU customers, note the rule change from 1 July 2026. The EU removed the duty-free threshold for parcels under €150. A temporary flat customs duty — currently €3 per item category in the parcel — may now apply to shipments from outside the EU, including Japan, on top of local VAT. This interim measure runs until 1 July 2028, after which standard duty rates by product type apply. The charge is collected by EU customs on arrival, not by us.

How do you pay?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, plus PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. All payments are processed securely and card details are never stored on our servers. Prices are shown in your local currency.

Frequently asked questions

Are the products 100% authentic?
Yes. Every product is sourced inside Japan — from Japanese pharmacies and beauty retailers, and directly from Japanese manufacturers, including professional salon brands. We do not sell replicas or grey-market stock.

Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Orders ship worldwide directly from Kobe, Japan, via Japan Post or courier, always with tracking. A small number of destinations are excluded — the checkout will tell you if yours is one of them.

Is this the Japanese-market version of the product?
Yes. Because everything is bought inside Japan, you receive the version sold on the Japanese market, in its original Japanese packaging. Our product pages carry full translated descriptions in English, Russian, German and Arabic.

How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 2–6 business days. After dispatch, expect roughly 3 days to 2 weeks for Asia, 5 days to 3 weeks for Europe, and 1–3 weeks for North America and the Middle East, depending on the shipping method you choose and customs clearance.

Will I pay customs duties?
It depends on your country. For orders to the USA up to $800, no — duties are prepaid and included in your checkout total, so nothing is due on delivery. Elsewhere, import duties and taxes are set by your customs authority and paid by the buyer; use our free Customs & Duties Calculator to estimate before ordering. EU buyers should also read the note about the €3 flat duty introduced on 1 July 2026.

Do I pay customs fees when ordering to the USA?
No. For orders shipped from Japan to the United States up to $800, we prepay all import duties and include them in your checkout total. There is no customs invoice, no courier handling fee and nothing to pay on delivery. For orders above $800, write to support@tsujimotomarket.com.

Can I return a product?
Unopened items can be returned under our Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy. Opened cosmetics and supplements cannot be returned, for hygiene and safety reasons.

Who chooses the products?
I do — Natalia Tsujimoto. I have lived in Japan since 2002 and select every item personally in Kobe. If you want a recommendation for your skin, write to support@tsujimotomarket.com and I will answer.
