Aqua Gel PT Colloid Essence is the signature first-step gel from La Sincia, a Japanese brand made for aesthetic salon use. The "PT" is platinum, declared on the ingredient list simply as 白金 — platinum, in ionised colloidal form.
The texture is the reason people repurchase it: it feels like water going on and leaves nothing behind, which is why it works as a first layer under everything else rather than as a serum in its own right.
Two corrections to the previous version of this page. The brand romanises itself La Sincia, not "La Sincere". And the ingredient list we were showing contained five things that are not in the bottle — the real one is below.

How to Use
- After cleansing, take a 10-yen-coin sized amount into the palms or onto a cotton pad.
- Press or sweep it over the face and neck.
- Give it about thirty seconds to absorb — it is watery and does not need longer.
- Layer your serum and then your cream on top as usual.
- In dry months you can also mix a little into your moisturiser instead of using it as a separate step.
Frequency: Morning and evening, as the first step after cleansing.

The list we were showing before today was wrong in both directions. It named hydrolysed collagen, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium citrate, citric acid and ethylhexylglycerin — none of which appear in the maker's declaration — and omitted panthenol, the peptide, the rose water, the liquorice pair and the beech bud extract, which do. It also closed with an instruction to the customer to check the label themselves, which is a note we should have been acting on rather than publishing.
In Japan this product is registered as a cosmetic (化粧品), not as a quasi-drug. That matters for what it may claim: a cosmetic is not permitted to state a recognised active ingredient or an approved medicinal effect, and neither do we.
Cautions
- For external use only. Avoid the eye area; if the product gets into the eyes, rinse at once with water or lukewarm water.
- Do not use on skin with wounds, swelling, eczema, sunburn or any other abnormality.
- Patch test before the first full-face use: apply a little to the inner forearm and leave it 24 hours.
- Stop using it and speak to a dermatologist if redness, swelling, itching, stinging or any other reaction appears during use or afterwards. Continuing can make it worse.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Close the pack after use and store away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
- Contains liquorice root extract and dipotassium glycyrrhizate. These are well tolerated by most people, but if you have reacted to liquorice-family ingredients before, patch test.
- This is a cosmetic gel essence. It does not regulate anything in the skin at a cellular level and it does not carry actives deeper than a cosmetic may claim to reach.

FAQ
What does platinum actually do in a skincare product?
Colloidal platinum is used in Japanese cosmetics as an antioxidant and a conditioning agent, and that is the claim we will stand behind. An earlier version of this page went considerably further — it said platinum "helps regulate the skin's 'electronic' and ionic environment, which is believed to support cellular signalling" and that it "helps drive hyaluronic acid to deeper skin layers". Neither is published by the maker and neither is something we can show you. They are gone.
Why does the page spell the brand differently from the product title?
Because the title is wrong and we have not fixed it yet. The maker romanises itself La Sincia. Our listing title and URL say "La Sincere", which is an old transcription error working its way through the catalogue. The product is the right one; the spelling is ours to correct.
Is this the same as a hyaluronic acid serum?
No, though hyaluronic acid is in it. This is a first-step gel — the job is to hydrate and then get out of the way of whatever you put on next. A dedicated HA serum sits later in the routine and usually has more body to it. Using both is perfectly sensible; using this instead of a moisturiser on dry skin is not.
Is it suitable for oily skin?
It is one of the better options for it. The water-gel texture delivers hydration without the emollients and occlusives that make oily skin feel heavy by lunchtime, and there is no oil of any kind in the formula.
Does it contain fragrance?
There is no separate fragrance on the declaration. What gives it a scent is the damask rose flower water, which is part of the base rather than a perfume added on top. If you are sensitive to rose specifically, that is worth knowing before you buy.
