Description

Bijou De Mer Beaute Invariante Golden Radiance Pack, 20 g

Overview

This is a fifteen-minute wash-off mask from Recore Serum's Bijou De Mer line, and it is unapologetically a luxury object: gold, silver, diamond, amethyst, tourmaline, jade, ruby and coral powders alongside truffle extract, ectoine, ocean silt and a vitamin C derivative. The finish is a light shimmer that comes off with the mask.

We have rewritten this page substantially. The previous version made claims about biological currents, telomeres and bactericidal action that we cannot support and that a cosmetic may not make. What remains is what the ingredients plausibly do, plus a full list. See our Japanese face masks.

Key Benefits

  • Mineral and metal powders — gold, colloidal gold, silver, diamond, amethyst, tourmaline, jade, ruby, mica and coral — which give the mask its texture, its slip and its visible shimmer
  • Truffle extract, an unusual ingredient carrying amino acids and antioxidant compounds
  • Ectoine, a well-studied bacterial osmolyte used in skincare for its water-binding and soothing behaviour
  • Ascorbic acid and glutathione as the antioxidant pair, with three ceramides (NP, NG, AP) supporting the barrier
  • Ocean silt and clay to absorb surface oil during the fifteen minutes it sits on the skin
  • A genuinely pleasant sensory experience, which is a legitimate reason to buy a mask and does not need dressing up as physiology

Who Is This For?

  • Mature skin wanting an occasional treatment step with a strong sensory payoff
  • Anyone preparing for an event who wants skin to look smooth and catch the light
  • Normal to dry skin — the clay content means very dry skin should not overdo the frequency
  • Not for vegans, and not free of marine animal ingredients: the formula contains two collagens, pearl and coral powder
  • Not for the eye area, the brows or the lips

How to Use

  1. Cleanse first, then apply an even layer across the face, avoiding the eye area, brows and lips.
  2. Leave on for about fifteen minutes.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water — this is a wash-off mask, not a sleeping pack.
  4. Follow with your usual toner and moisturiser.

Frequency: Twice a week is the manufacturer's recommendation; once a week is plenty for dry skin.

Full Ingredients

Full ingredient list as published: water, glycerin, BG, ethanol, dimethicone, synthetic fluorphlogopite, titanium dioxide, isodecyl neopentanoate, pentylene glycol, copolymer, 1,2-hexanediol, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, mica, carbomer, xanthan gum, truffle extract, PCA menthol, tin oxide, Bacillus ferment, Micrococcus lysate, ectoine, sea silt, PG, gold, PEG-20 hydrogenated castor oil, sorbitol, water-soluble collagen, hydrolysed collagen, sodium hyaluronate, hydrolysed hyaluronic acid, hydrogenated lecithin, propanediol, phytosterols, caprylyl glycol, diamond powder, ceramide NP, ceramide NG, ceramide AP, amethyst powder, cellulose gum, tourmaline, jade powder, coral powder, pearl, ruby powder, sodium bicarbonate, succinate, ascorbic acid, colloidal gold, glutathione, silver, crosspolymer, iron oxide, potassium hydroxide, fragrance, tocopherol, lauric acid, citric acid, sodium citrate.

Ethanol is fourth in that list and the product is fragranced — neither appeared on the previous version of this page. The two collagens, the pearl and the coral powder are animal-derived. Hydrogenated lecithin is usually soy-derived.

Ingredient list as declared by the manufacturer. Formulations are occasionally revised, so always read the list printed on the package you receive.

Cautions

  • Contains animal-derived ingredients — not suitable for vegans.
  • Contains ethanol (alcohol), which can sting dry or reactive skin — patch test first if your barrier is compromised.
  • Contains menthol or mint oil, which can sting reactive skin — patch test first if your skin is easily irritated.
  • Contains fragrance and a mineral pigment set — patch test before first use if your skin is reactive.
  • This is a cosmetic mask. It does not normalise biological currents, act on telomeres, kill bacteria or reduce wrinkles by a measured percentage in an hour. We have removed all of those statements from this page.
  • Rinse off after fifteen minutes. Leaving a clay-containing mask on until it dries is counterproductive.
  • Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
  • Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

FAQ

What happened to the claims that used to be on this page?

We took them out. The previous copy said the mask normalises the biological currents of blood and lymph, has a bactericidal action, prevents cellular ageing through telomere shortening, and reduces wrinkles by nineteen per cent in one hour. None of those is a claim a cosmetic is permitted to make, and we could not find a source for the nineteen per cent figure. What the mask actually offers is a well-formulated fifteen-minute treatment with ceramides, antioxidants and a real sensory experience. That is enough.

Do gold and gemstone powders do anything for skin?

In a formulation sense, yes — but not in the way the marketing implies. Mica, fluorphlogopite, titanium dioxide and the gemstone powders are optical and textural ingredients: they reflect light, which is what produces the immediate radiance you see when the mask goes on, and they contribute slip. Gold and silver are chemically very unreactive, which is precisely why they are safe on skin and also why they are not doing metabolic work. Buy this for the ceramides, the ectoine and the experience, not for the periodic table.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

The formula contains water-soluble collagen, hydrolysed collagen, pearl and coral powder, all animal-derived, plus ethanol as a formulation ingredient. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.

The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?

The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market. Where an ingredient list appears on this page, it is translated from that labelling or from the manufacturer's own published data; where the manufacturer does not publish one, the ingredients section says so rather than filling the gap. Either way, send us a photo of anything unclear on the box after delivery and we will translate it, and ask us before ordering if you need the full label list first.

Will I pay customs duty or import VAT?

That depends on your country and on the declared value of the parcel, not on us. We ship from Japan with a correct customs declaration and full tracking; any duty or import VAT your country charges is collected by your local carrier or customs office on delivery. Check your national de-minimis threshold before ordering if you want to avoid a surprise.
