Description

Amenity SC Beaute Premium Cleansing Milk, 150 g

Overview

The cleansing step of the Amenity SC Beaute Premium salon line, completing the set alongside the lotion, essence, cream and foam. It is a milk rather than an oil or a foam: applied to dry or barely damp skin, worked over the face, then removed. The line is built on deep sea water drawn from 344 metres off Muroto in Kochi and on a human cell-culture extract, and both of those are described here as what they are. See also our Japanese cleansers.

Key Benefits

  • ✓ Milk texture — removes daily makeup without the tightness a foaming cleanser can leave
  • ✓ Deep sea water from 344 metres off Muroto, Kochi, as the manufacturer's declared water base
  • ✓ Dipotassium glycyrrhizate, a licorice-derived ingredient widely used for its cosmetic soothing effect
  • ✓ Artichoke leaf extract, a common ingredient in Japanese formulas aimed at the look of pores
  • ✓ Part of a matched salon line, so it layers predictably with the lotion, essence and cream
  • ✓ 150 g, a salon-sized tube rather than a travel one

Who Is This For?

  • Anyone already using the SC Beaute Premium lotion, essence or cream
  • Skin that feels stripped after a foaming cleanser
  • Everyday makeup rather than long-wear or waterproof
  • People who prefer to cleanse without water in the morning
  • Not for you if you avoid human-derived or soy ingredients — see Cautions

How to Use

  1. Apply to dry or barely damp skin — not to a wet face
  2. Spread a small amount over the face and neck with light circular movements
  3. Give it thirty seconds to loosen makeup and sunscreen
  4. Remove with a soft tissue or rinse with lukewarm water
  5. Follow with the SC Beaute lotion while the skin is still damp

Frequency: Evening; morning as well if your skin prefers a cleanser to water

Full Ingredients

Manufacturer-declared components: deep sea water from Muroto, human cell-culture extract (conditioned media), dipotassium glycyrrhizate, artichoke leaf extract, soy seed extract, and natural essential oils. A ranked INCI list is not published for the international market. Read the list printed on the tube you receive; send us a photo and we will translate it for you.

Ingredient list as declared by the manufacturer. Formulations are occasionally revised, so always read the list printed on the package you receive.

Cautions

  • Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
  • Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
  • The previous description said the stem cell extract "stimulates cell division and renewal", "prevents sagging and loss of elasticity", "protects skin from UV radiation and photodamage" and extends "cell lifespan"; that glycyrrhizic acid "relieves inflammation, preventing roughness and redness caused by acne"; that artichoke leaf extract "shrinks pores, eliminates blackheads"; and that soy seed extract provides "comprehensive rejuvenating and lifting action". Those are treatment and drug-level claims on a cleansing milk and we have removed them.
  • The line's headline ingredient is described as a human stem cell culture extract. In practice this means conditioned media — the liquid a cell culture is grown in, harvested and filtered, containing the proteins and signalling molecules those cells released. Two things follow. It is of human origin, which is a real disclosure for anyone avoiding human-derived ingredients on religious or personal grounds, and it means the product is not vegan. Second, the evidence for what conditioned media does when applied to intact skin is thin: the molecules involved are large, and skin is designed to keep large molecules out.
  • The previous description said the product is free of fragrance, and two paragraphs later said it is enriched with natural essential oils for a relaxing aroma. Both cannot be true. Essential oils are fragrance ingredients and are among the more common contact allergens in skincare. The accurate statement is: no synthetic fragrance is declared, but essential oils are present. Patch test if scented products have irritated you before.
  • Contains soy seed extract. Soy is a declared allergen in most jurisdictions and this is a leave-on-then-rinse product used on the whole face and neck — relevant if you have a soy allergy.
  • This is a moisturising product with no sun filters — it does not protect skin from UV. Apply sunscreen separately in the morning.

FAQ

Will this remove waterproof mascara and long-wear foundation?

Not reliably. A cleansing milk is built for everyday base makeup, sunscreen and the day's grime. Waterproof and transfer-proof formulas need an oil or balm cleanser, and trying to force a milk to do it means rubbing — which does more harm around the eye than the extra product ever would.

What does deep sea water actually contribute?

It is mineral-rich seawater drawn from below the sunlit layer, desalinated for cosmetic use, and Japanese brands have used it for decades. What it contributes in a rinse-off product is honestly modest: minerals in a cleanser leave with the cleanser. The reason to buy this milk is the texture and the fit with the rest of the line, not the water.

Is the stem cell ingredient safe?

The line's headline ingredient is described as a human stem cell culture extract.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

It is neither. The formula contains a human cell-culture extract, which rules it out for vegans and, for most halal-observant shoppers, raises a question that belongs with their own religious authority rather than with a shop. We would rather you knew before ordering than after. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.

The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?

The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market. The ingredient list and directions on this page are translated from that labelling. If anything on the box is unclear after delivery, send us a photo and we will translate it for you.
