What exactly is the "human stem cell" ingredient?
It is an extract of conditioned medium: human fat-derived cells are grown in a nutrient fluid, the cells are then removed, and what remains — the fluid, containing the proteins and sugars the cells released — is what goes into the product. There are no cells in the bottle. It is used as a cosmetic conditioning ingredient. It is not a medical or regenerative therapy, and no cosmetic in Japan or the EU may be sold as one.
Does the retinol in it make my skin sensitive to sun?
It can, yes. Retinol-type ingredients increase how reactive skin is to UV, and they also break down in sunlight, so the sensible pattern is: cream at night, sunscreen every morning. If you use it in the morning too, sunscreen stops being optional.
In what order do I use the SC Beaute Premium products?
Cleansing foam first, then the essence on clean damp skin, then the lotion, then the cream last to seal everything in. You do not need all four to use one — each works on its own — but if you own several, that is the order the line is designed around.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
No, on both counts, and it is worth being clear about why: the signature ingredient is derived from human cell culture. That places it outside a vegan definition and it is a question many customers will want to take to their own religious authority rather than to a shop.
