Description
Anessa Mineral UV Sunscreen Mild Gel N SPF35 PA+++ 90 g
Overview
Anessa spent thirty years building its reputation on chemical filters and an aggressive water-resistant film. The Mineral UV Mild Gel N is the line's first non-chemical formula, and it is a deliberately different product: zinc oxide and titanium dioxide only, SPF35 PA+++ rather than the maximum, and gentle enough that Shiseido clears it for babies.
The lower rating is not a compromise, it is the trade. Mineral filters at SPF50 tend to sit heavy and cast white; at SPF35 with Anessa's Smooth Protect Technology dispersing the particles, the gel goes on light and largely clear. For everyday exposure — school run, commute, an hour in the garden — SPF35 PA+++ is more than adequate. For a beach day, take the Perfect UV gel instead.
Free of UV absorbers, alcohol, parabens and mineral oil. See the rest of the Japanese sunscreen collection.

Who Is This For?
- Families who want one tube for a baby, a child and an adult rather than three
- Sensitive skin that stings with chemical filters or with the ethanol in the standard Anessa gel
- Anyone whose sun exposure is incidental — commuting, errands, an hour outside — rather than a full day at the beach
- People who want a mineral sunscreen that does not look chalky, which is what Smooth Protect Technology is for
- Not the right choice for prolonged swimming or sport at midday. SPF35 PA+++ is a daily rating; for that, take the Perfect UV gel at SPF50+ PA++++.
How to Use
- Shake the tube well before use — mineral formulas settle.
- Apply an even, generous layer to exposed skin as the final step of your routine.
- Spread smoothly over face and body; on children, apply yourself rather than letting them do it.
- Reapply through the day, and after swimming, sweating or towel-drying.
- Remove with soap and water or your usual cleanser — no dedicated remover needed.
Frequency: Daily. Reapply every 2–3 hours of sun exposure and after water contact.
Full Ingredients
The UV filters are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, and there is no chemical absorber in the formula. Shiseido states it is free of UV absorbers, alcohol, parabens and mineral oil.
The complete ingredient list is printed on the Japanese carton in Japanese. We have chosen not to reproduce a partial or retailer-sourced list here: for a product bought specifically because of what it leaves out, a list that might be missing an item is worse than no list. If you need the full declaration before ordering — for an allergy, or for a child — email support@tsujimotomarket.com and we will photograph the panel from stock.
Cautions
- For external use only. Discontinue if redness, itching, or irritation appears.
- Avoid contact with the eyes; rinse with cool water if contact occurs.
- Do not apply to broken, irritated, or sunburned skin.
- Patch-test before first use, especially on sensitive skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sun, heat, and freezing temperatures.
- For use on children under adult supervision. Apply it for them rather than letting them apply it themselves.
- Mineral filters can leave a faint cast on deeper skin tones, though Smooth Protect Technology reduces it.
- SPF35 PA+++ is a daily-exposure rating. It is not the right product for a full day in strong sun.

FAQ
Why is this SPF35 when the rest of Anessa is SPF50+?
Because it is mineral-only. Pushing zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to SPF50 without chemical filters means more powder in the formula, which means weight and white cast. Shiseido chose a lighter, wearable SPF35 PA+++ instead. That rating is ample for daily exposure.
Can I use it on a baby?
Shiseido clears it for babies. Patch-test on a small area first, apply it yourself rather than handing it to a child, and keep it away from eyes and mouth.
Does it leave a white cast?
Less than most mineral sunscreens, because Smooth Protect Technology disperses the particles rather than letting them clump. Deeper skin tones will still see a slight veil — that is physics, not formulation.
Do I need a special cleanser?
No. Soap and water or your usual cleanser is enough.
Is this the Japan-domestic version?
Yes. We buy Anessa through Japanese retail and authorised distribution and ship it from our own stock in Kobe. The box and label are in Japanese; the English text you need is on this page.
