The filters are mineral only: titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. There are no chemical absorbers in it at all, which is unusual for Anessa and makes this the gentlest thing in the line. The base is a translucent beige rather than white, so it reads as blurred skin instead of powder, and the oil-absorbing silica keeps a humid afternoon from turning shiny.

How to Use
- Twist the base to extend the brush and load powder into the bristles.
- Hold the brush perpendicular to the skin and sweep gently over the areas you want covered — face, and any exposed neck or shoulder.
- Lift the brush away slowly; a fast lift throws powder into the air.
- Build in two or three light passes rather than one heavy one.
- Reapply through the day, and after sweating, swimming or towel-drying.
Frequency: As a top-up over a morning sunscreen, roughly every 2–3 hours of sun exposure. Removes with your usual cleanser.

Two points. The filters are the second and third entries — titanium dioxide and zinc oxide — and there is no chemical absorber anywhere in the list, which is what makes this the mildest Anessa. But the list also ends in fragrance, so “gentle” has a limit: if you are avoiding fragrance in skincare, avoid it here too.

- A loose powder — keep it away from the eyes while sweeping, and do not inhale the airborne product.
- This is a reapplication tool. It does not deliver the film thickness that an SPF50+ rating is measured at, so it does not replace a base sunscreen for prolonged exposure.

Can I really use it over makeup?
Yes — that is the entire design brief. Sweep it over finished foundation and nothing smudges, because a dry powder does not move a set base the way a cream does.
Does it leave a white cast?
The base is translucent beige, not white, so it blurs rather than lightens. Very deep skin tones may still see a faint veil in flash photography, as with any mineral powder.
Is it reef-safe?
We would rather give you the facts than the label. It uses mineral filters only and contains neither oxybenzone nor octinoxate, the two filters restricted in Hawaii and Palau. Whether any sunscreen is "reef-safe" is not something a retailer can certify.
Can this be my only sunscreen?
No, and we would rather say so. SPF ratings are measured at 2 mg/cm², a film far thicker than 3 g of brushed powder can deliver. Use a lotion or gel in the morning and this on top through the day.
