Overview
AseNifuta is a quasi-drug (医薬部外品) antiperspirant, and it is unusual in two ways. The first is the strength: the approved active is aluminium chloride at 13%, which is the clinical end of what is sold over a Japanese counter rather than the cosmetic end.
The second is how little else is in the bottle. The complete declaration is aluminium chloride, purified water and concentrated glycerin. Three ingredients. No fragrance, no alcohol, no powder, no film former — which is why this page has very little to say about how it feels and a great deal to say about how to use it without irritating yourself.
It works by forming a plug in the sweat duct, so it is applied at night to clean dry skin and rinsed in the morning; the plug survives washing and sheds with the skin over several days. How to Use
- Use on clean, dry underarms, ideally after a bath and just before bed.
- Shake the bottle. Dispense a small amount — about a ten-yen coin — onto your hand or a cotton pad.
- Apply to the underarms and let the skin dry completely before dressing.
- Avoid sweating for at least half an hour after it dries, then sleep.
- Wipe or rinse the area in the morning; this is part of the method and it reduces itching.
Frequency: Nightly until sweat is under control, then stop and use it again only when the effect fades.

Cautions
- Aluminium chloride is an irritant. Itching or a rash can occur, and a first application should be a small amount that you wipe or rinse off immediately if itching starts.
- Do not use if you have a metal allergy or skin that is prone to rashes.
- Underarms only. Not for the face, neck, scalp, mucous membranes, freshly shaved skin, or skin that is rough, flushed or broken.
- If it stings, use less, leave longer between applications, or dilute it on a damp cotton pad rather than pressing on with the full dose.
- Let the skin dry fully before dressing — the liquid can discolour dyes and fabrics.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before using a 13% aluminium chloride product. We are not in a position to tell you it is fine.
- Quasi-drug status (医薬部外品) is a Japanese classification. Rules on aluminium salts in antiperspirants differ by country; check your own before ordering.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from extreme heat and cold and out of direct sunlight.

How long does one application last?
It varies a lot between people. Around two days is common and some report five to seven. The mechanism explains the range: the plug is not washed away by body wash, so it lasts until the skin sheds it, which takes roughly three to five days and happens at different speeds in different people.
Will it make me itch?
It might. Aluminium chloride at 13% is an irritant and the formula contains nothing to soften it. Start with a small amount, rinse it off immediately if itching begins, and use less or dilute it on a damp cotton pad next time. Wiping the area in the morning is part of the method rather than an optional extra, and it helps.
Why at night and not in the morning?
Sweat ducts are least active during sleep, which is when the plug forms most reliably. Applying to skin that is already sweating tends to wash the active off before it can work and makes irritation more likely. This is why there is no daytime version of this product.
Is it a deodorant?
Not in the usual sense. It has no fragrance and adds no scent — it reduces sweat, and less sweat means less for skin bacteria to work on, which is where underarm odour comes from. If you want to smell of something, this is not that product and you can wear one over it.
Can I use it if I am pregnant?
Ask your doctor. Our previous version of this page said it may be used with caution, which was an assurance we had no authority to give about a 13% aluminium chloride quasi-drug. The honest answer is that this is a medical question and your doctor should answer it.
