The formula carries a set of fruit and plant extracts — pomegranate, apple, lemon, raspberry, aloe, camellia — with shea butter and squalane, and rosemary and chamomile. It lathers into a soft foam from a clear gel and rinses without a film. No parabens, no sulfates.

Declared ingredients: water, myristic acid, lauric acid, potassium hydroxide, isopentyldiol, glycerin, cocamidopropyl betaine, with the declared botanical extracts — pomegranate, apple, lemon, raspberry, aloe, camellia, rosemary and chamomile — and shea butter and squalane.
The first four of those are the cleansing system: myristic and lauric acid neutralised with potassium hydroxide make potassium soaps in the bottle. That is what "soap-based" means, and it is why there is no sulfate in the list.

What does "soap-based" actually mean here?
Myristic acid and lauric acid neutralised with potassium hydroxide, which makes potassium soaps in the bottle. It is the reason the product can honestly say it contains no sulfates: the cleansing does not come from one.
Is the fragrance strong?
It is a fruity-herbal scent — black currant over green leaves — and it fades after rinsing rather than staying on the skin the way a perfumed body lotion does. If you wear fragrance, it will not fight with it for long.
How long does 490 ml last?
For one person showering daily, usually somewhere between six weeks and three months, depending on hair length, body size and how heavy-handed you are with the pump.
Is it the same as the Botanist shampoo of the same scent?
No. This is the body soap. Botanist sells matching shampoo and conditioner in several of its scents, but they are separate products with separate formulas — do not assume the ingredient list here applies to them.
