Description
Meishoku DET Clear Bright & Peel Care Serum, 30 ml
Overview
This is the leave-on member of the DET Clear family: a daily serum that keeps a gentle exfoliating action going between weekly peeling-gel sessions. Mandelic acid and papain do the surface work, microencapsulated retinol and a stable vitamin C ester handle tone, and ceramides, hyaluronic acid and collagen keep the formula from feeling stripping. Free from parabens and alcohol. See also our Japanese serums.
Key Benefits
- ✓ Mandelic acid, a larger AHA molecule that tends to be better tolerated than glycolic
- ✓ Papain, a papaya enzyme, for gentle surface renewal
- ✓ Microencapsulated retinol and a stable vitamin C ester for a more even-looking tone
- ✓ Three ceramides, hyaluronic acid and collagen so the formula supports rather than strips
- ✓ Free from parabens and alcohol
- ✓ Fits between weekly peeling sessions as the daily maintenance step

Cautions
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
- Exfoliating acids can make skin more sensitive to sunlight — use a daily sunscreen while you are using this product.
- Contains a retinol-type ingredient: use sunscreen during the day and avoid it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor agrees.
- Contains animal-derived ingredients — not suitable for vegans.
- This is a leave-on acid and retinol serum. Do not use it on the same evening as the DET Clear peeling gel — space them out, or you are exfoliating twice in one session.
- Start once daily in the evening and build up. Redness or persistent stinging means you are going too fast, not that it is working.

FAQ
Can I use this together with the DET Clear peeling gel?
Yes, but not on the same evening. The gel is a weekly rinse-off exfoliant and the serum is a daily leave-on one; stacking them in a single session is how people end up with a stinging, reddened barrier. Use the gel on its own night, and skip the serum that evening.
What does microencapsulated retinol mean?
The retinol is enclosed in a tiny carrier that keeps it stable in the bottle and releases it gradually on the skin. It is a stability and tolerance measure, not a strength measure — the caution about pregnancy and daytime sunscreen applies exactly as it would to any retinol.
Is mandelic acid gentler than other acids?
It has a larger molecule than glycolic acid, so it works into the skin more slowly and is generally reported as better tolerated, particularly on skin that flushes easily. Gentler does not mean it can be used without sunscreen, though — any AHA raises how reactive the skin is to sun.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
No. The formula contains succinoyl atelocollagen, which is animal-derived. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
Will I pay customs duty or import VAT?
That depends on your country and on the declared value of the parcel, not on us. We ship from Japan with a correct customs declaration and full tracking; any duty or import VAT your country charges is collected by your local carrier or customs office on delivery. Check your national de-minimis threshold before ordering if you want to avoid a surprise.
