Which animal does the placenta come from?
Pig. Japanese beauty placenta is almost always porcine or equine, and the declaration names it — but you should not have to read Japanese to find that out, which is why it is in the first caution as well. This product is not halal-certified and not suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Why does the label say 360 mg when other brands say 10,000 mg?
Because they are measuring different things. DHC declares 360 mg of placenta concentrate powder — the substance actually in the capsules. Brands quoting five-figure numbers are usually quoting raw-liquid equivalent, which is the amount of unconcentrated extract their powder was made from. A 50x concentrate at 200 mg of powder can legitimately be advertised as 10,000 mg. Compare powder with powder.
Does it smell?
Placenta raw material does. DHC formulates the soft capsule so that the smell is contained; in Japanese reviews the recurring line is that there is no noticeable odour. If you have found other placenta supplements hard to take for that reason, this is the format to try.
How long before it is worth judging?
