How to Use

1. Wash and dry your feet; a ten-minute warm soak first makes the result more even.
2. Cut the sachet open and take out the pair of socks.
3. Cut the socks along the dotted line, put them on and seal the cuffs at the ankle with the supplied tape.
4. Wear for the time printed on your sachet — Liberta sells a 30-minute and a 60-minute type, so do not guess. Do not exceed it.
5. Remove the socks, wash your feet thoroughly with soap and warm water, and dry them.
6. Moisturise daily for the next one to two weeks and let the skin shed by itself. Do not pull, cut or file it.

Frequency: One treatment, then at least four weeks before repeating. Two or three times a year suits most feet.

This is a genuinely acidic formula and stronger than a single-acid pack: glycolic and lactic acid (alpha-hydroxy acids) work on the bonds between dead cells, salicylic acid (a beta-hydroxy acid) works into the oilier, thicker plaques, and citric and malic acid adjust the pH. The citrus and lemongrass oils are what you smell. Read the cautions below before you use it — the acid load is the reason for them.

Cautions

• Do not use on feet with cuts, cracks that bleed, athlete's foot, eczema, dermatitis or any open wound — wait until the skin is intact.
• Not for use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, have impaired circulation or reduced sensation in the feet, or are under medical care for a foot condition.
• Contains citrus peel oil. Rinse-off products carry little photosensitivity risk, but wear daily sunscreen and do not leave the product on the skin.
• Contains ethanol (alcohol), which can sting dry or reactive skin — patch test first if your barrier is compromised.
• This pack combines three acids and is stronger than a single-acid peel: if your skin is thin, reactive or you have peeled recently, start with a milder pack instead.
• Exfoliating acids make skin more sensitive to sunlight: keep peeling feet out of direct sun and out of the pool, sauna and hot bath until shedding has finished.
• Do not pull, cut or file the loosening skin. Let it come away on its own and moisturise daily — forcing it risks tearing live skin underneath.
• Do not exceed the stated wear time, do not re-apply on the same feet within four weeks, and stop immediately if you feel burning rather than mild tingling.
• Not for children. Keep the sachet out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How long until my feet actually peel, and how long does the whole thing take?

Nothing happens on the day you wear the socks. Shedding usually starts three to seven days later, depending on how thick the callus was and how consistently you moisturise, and it runs for roughly one to two weeks before the skin settles smooth. Skin on the heels and balls of the feet comes away in sheets; the arches may barely peel at all. Plan the treatment for a fortnight when you are not going to a beach, a pool or a barefoot event.

Is an acid foot peel safe, and who should not use one?

For healthy feet it is a cosmetic exfoliation, not a medical procedure, and the acids act only on hardened dead layers. It is the wrong product, though, if you have diabetes, poor circulation or numbness in the feet, an active fungal infection, eczema, psoriasis, open cracks or a wound; if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; or if a podiatrist is already treating your feet. In those cases the risk of an unnoticed injury outweighs a cosmetic result — ask your doctor first. And if a peel ever burns rather than tingles, take the socks off and rinse.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

The declared ingredient list is plant- and mineral-derived, with no animal ingredients, so it fits a vegan routine. It carries no halal certification, however — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
