Originally, this tea was a drink of poor Japanese; rice was added to the tea for economy. Currently, genmaicha is popular both among ordinary people and among connoisseurs. The taste is mild, combining the fresh herbal aroma of green tea with the aroma of roasted rice.
Preparation method (for 2 servings): pour 200 ml of hot water (95°C) over two teaspoons of tea, after 30 seconds pour into cups.
