Description
Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Hyaluron Eye Cream, 20 g
Overview
A dedicated cream for the eye area from the Gokujyun Premium line, built around seven hyaluronic ingredients of different molecular sizes and forms. The skin around the eye is thinner than the rest of the face and has very few oil glands, which is why it dries first and why a lighter, well-cushioned texture matters more here than richness. Twenty grams is generous for an eye product. See also our Japanese eye care.
Key Benefits
- ✓ Seven hyaluronic ingredients, all of them named in the declared list — nano, super, skin-adhering, crosspolymer, lactic-fermented, low-molecular hydrolysed and plain sodium hyaluronate
- ✓ Squalane, meadowfoam seed oil and olive fruit oil for emollience the eye area actually lacks
- ✓ Sacran from the Japanese freshwater algae Aphanothece sacrum
- ✓ Fragrance-free and colorant-free, formulated for the thin periocular skin
- ✓ Texture that settles without creasing under concealer
- ✓ Twenty grams — larger than the usual 15 g eye pot

Who Is This For?
- Anyone noticing dryness or fine crepiness at the outer corners
- Concealer that settles into lines by mid-afternoon
- People who already use Gokujyun and want a dedicated step for the eye zone
- Air-conditioned offices and long screen days, where the eye area dries fastest
- Not a treatment for dark circles or puffiness — hydration is what this is
How to Use
- Apply your lotion first and let it settle
- Take an amount about the size of a grain of rice onto the ring finger
- Dot it along the orbital bone — under the eye, at the outer corner, on the brow bone
- Tap gently until absorbed; do not drag the skin sideways
- Let it settle for a minute before concealer or sunscreen
Frequency: Morning and evening

Ingredient list as declared by the manufacturer. Formulations are occasionally revised, so always read the list printed on the package you receive.
Cautions
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
- The previous description credited this cream with ceramide and hydrolysed collagen. Neither appears in the manufacturer's declared ingredient list, so both have been removed. The same applies to the claim that three of the hyaluronic acids are encapsulated for timed release into deeper layers — the list names a crosspolymer form and a low-molecular hydrolysed form, which is a different and more modest thing.
- Contains cholesteryl stearate. Cosmetic cholesterol is usually animal-derived, most often from lanolin, and Rohto does not publish the source — so we cannot describe this cream as vegan. The formula also contains hydrogenated lecithin, which is commonly soy-derived, plus olive fruit oil and meadowfoam seed oil.
- This is a moisturising product with no sun filters — it does not protect skin from UV. Apply sunscreen separately in the morning.
- Stay on the orbital bone rather than close to the lash line. Cream migrates towards the eye through the night, and the usual cause of morning puffiness is applying too close, not the formula itself.
- Contact lens wearers: apply after inserting lenses, not before.

FAQ
Will this get rid of my dark circles?
No, and no cosmetic eye cream reliably will. Dark circles are usually one of three things: pigmentation, visible blood vessels under thin skin, or a shadow cast by the hollow under the eye. Hydration softens the look of the first slightly and does nothing for the other two. What this cream does well is dryness and the fine crepey texture that comes with it.
Do I really need a separate eye cream?
Not necessarily. If your face moisturiser is fragrance-free and does not sting, extending it around the eye is a legitimate routine that many dermatologists are relaxed about. A dedicated eye product earns its place when your face cream is too heavy, is scented, or contains an active you would rather keep away from the eye — a retinoid or an acid.
What is the correct order for the Gokujyun products?
Foaming face wash first, then the lotion, then the emulsion, then the cream — thinnest to richest. You do not need all four: lotion plus cream is a complete routine, and the Perfect Gel replaces the whole middle of it on its own. Browse the rest of the line under toners and moisturisers.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
The declared list contains cholesteryl stearate, and cosmetic cholesterol is usually animal-derived; Rohto does not publish the source, so we will not call this cream vegan. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
Is this an authentic Japanese product?
Yes. We buy through Japanese distribution channels and ship from our base in Kobe, Japan. We do not sell grey-market or parallel-import stock, and the packaging you receive is the Japanese domestic packaging, with Japanese-language labelling.
