Cautions

• The previous description said this gel was paraben-free. It is not: methylparaben appears in the declared list. Methylparaben is a permitted and well-studied preservative, but the claim was wrong and we have removed it.
• Contains animal-derived ingredients — not suitable for vegans.
• This is a moisturising product with no sun filters — it does not protect skin from UV. Apply sunscreen separately in the morning.
• An all-in-one is a floor, not a ceiling. If you have a specific concern — pigmentation, texture, established wrinkles — a single gel will not address it, and no all-in-one is sold as doing so.
• Take gel from the jar with clean, dry fingers or a spatula.

Is an all-in-one really as good as four separate products?

For hydration, it can be close, and a gel you actually use every day beats four bottles you use twice a week. What it cannot do is give you different actives at different steps — a vitamin C in the morning, an exfoliant twice a week. The honest way to put it is that an all-in-one is an excellent baseline and a poor specialist.

Can I use it as a sleeping mask?

Yes — Rohto suggests exactly that. Apply a thicker layer than usual before bed and rinse in the morning. Because the base is a water gel rather than an oil balm, it does not feel heavy on the pillow, but on very oily skin a thick nightly layer can feel occlusive; twice a week is a reasonable place to start.

What is the correct order for the Gokujyun products?

Foaming face wash first, then the lotion, then the emulsion, then the cream — thinnest to richest. You do not need all four: lotion plus cream is a complete routine, and the Perfect Gel replaces the whole middle of it on its own. Browse the rest of the line under toners and moisturisers.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

The formula contains hydrolysed collagen, which is animal-derived, so it is not vegan and does not suit anyone avoiding animal ingredients of unverified origin. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
