How to Use
- After cleansing, while the face is still slightly damp, pour a 500-yen-coin amount into your palm.

- Follow with an emulsion, gel or cream to seal it — a humectant alone will evaporate.

Cautions
- This is a humectant. In very dry air it needs a cream or emulsion over it, otherwise it can leave skin feeling drier than before.
- No sun filters and no actives — it neither protects nor treats. Layer it under whatever does.

- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.

What is the three-layer method and does it do anything?
It is the Japanese habit of applying a watery toner in three thin passes instead of one thick one, pressing each in until it stops feeling wet. The logic is simple rather than magical: a thick layer mostly sits there and evaporates, while thin repeated layers give the humectants time to bind water in the top layer of skin. It makes a noticeable difference in winter and almost none in humid August. Always seal the last layer with something occlusive.
How is this different from Gokujyun Premium?
The standard Gokujyun carries four hyaluronic acids. Premium carries more forms, including a crosspolymer and a hydroxypropyltrimonium type, and has a heavier, more coating texture. Whether that is worth the price difference depends mostly on your climate — in dry air the Premium's extra weight is noticeable, in humidity it mostly is not.
Is this an authentic Japanese product?
