Description
Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Cream, 50 g
Overview
The closing step of the Gokujyun routine: a jelly-textured cream that puts an occlusive layer over everything applied before it. It is the same four hyaluronic ingredients as the lotion and emulsion, carried in a base with silicone and fatty alcohols so that water stays where it was put. Fifty grams is a small jar by Japanese standards because the cream is used sparingly. See also our Japanese face creams.
Key Benefits

Who Is This For?
- Dry or normal skin, especially through autumn and winter
- Anyone in a heated or air-conditioned room for most of the day
- People who want the lotion's hydration to still be there in the morning
- Those simplifying to two steps: lotion and cream, no emulsion
- Less suitable for oily skin in summer — the emulsion is the lighter option
How to Use
- Apply the lotion, and the emulsion if you use one
- Take an amount about the size of a pea
- Warm it between the fingertips until it turns clear
- Press it over the face and neck rather than rubbing it in
- Add a second, thinner pass only on the driest areas
Frequency: Evening; morning as well in winter

Cautions
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
- This is a moisturising product with no sun filters — it does not protect skin from UV. Apply sunscreen separately in the morning.
- Contains dilauroyl glutamate (phytosteryl/octyldodecyl) — a plant-sterol emollient that is commonly soy-derived. Manufacturers do not always declare the botanical source, so if you have a diagnosed soy allergy, patch test and treat the source as unconfirmed.
- Take cream from the jar with clean, dry fingers or a small spatula. A jar that is opened twice a day with wet hands ages faster than the formula deserves.
- Rohto states the product has been patch-tested with the cooperation of people with sensitive skin. That is a manufacturer test on a panel, not a guarantee that no one will react — do your own patch test first.

FAQ
Does this cream do anything about wrinkles or dark spots?
No, and it is not sold as doing so. This is a plain cosmetic moisturiser with no active ingredient and no quasi-drug status. If wrinkle or pigmentation claims are what you are after, the product you want is the medicated Gokujyun cream with niacinamide, which is registered as a quasi-drug in Japan — a different product with a different label.
Why does 50 g look so small?
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant — it holds water. That is a real and useful property, but it is worth knowing how it behaves: it draws on the moisture already in the skin and in the air around you, so a hyaluronic lotion feels its best in a humid Japanese summer and noticeably less impressive in a dry, heated room in winter. The fix is not more lotion but something on top of it — an emulsion or a cream — to stop the water leaving again. In practice a pea-sized amount covers the whole face, so 50 g lasts around two to three months of nightly use.
What is the correct order for the Gokujyun products?
Foaming face wash first, then the lotion, then the emulsion, then the cream — thinnest to richest. You do not need all four: lotion plus cream is a complete routine, and the Perfect Gel replaces the whole middle of it on its own. Browse the rest of the line under toners and moisturisers.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
The declared ingredient list is plant- and mineral-derived, with no animal ingredients, so it fits a vegan routine. It carries no halal certification, however — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
Is this an authentic Japanese product?
Yes. We buy through Japanese distribution channels and ship from our base in Kobe, Japan. We do not sell grey-market or parallel-import stock, and the packaging you receive is the Japanese domestic packaging, with Japanese-language labelling.
