How to Use
- Take 4 tablets with water or warm water.
- Repeat twice a day, before meals or between meals — not after. "Between meals" means roughly two to three hours after eating.
- Close the pouch zip firmly every time. The tablets absorb moisture readily; this is in the official instructions.
- Do not handle the tablets with wet hands, and do not decant them into another container.
- If a month brings no improvement, stop and consult a doctor or pharmacist. If you intend to keep taking it long-term, ask first.
Frequency: 8 tablets a day, in two doses of 4, before or between meals. Do not exceed the stated dose. Not for under-15s.

- Saiko (Bupleurum root) — 1.5 g
- Botanpi (Paeonia suffruticosa root bark) — 1.0 g
- Sanshishi (Gardenia fruit) — 1.0 g
- Kanzo (Glycyrrhiza / licorice root) — 1.0 g
- Shokyo (Ginger rhizome) — 0.5 g
- Hakka (Japanese mint) — 0.5 g
Excipients: silicon dioxide, carmellose calcium (CMC-Ca), magnesium stearate and lactose. The lactose is the line to read if you avoid dairy-derived ingredients.

- Kobayashi's insert names four rare but serious reactions, and you should know their first signs: pseudoaldosteronism and myopathy (heaviness, numbness, tightness or stiffness in the limbs, followed by weakness and muscle pain that gradually worsens); liver dysfunction (fever, itching, rash, jaundice, dark urine, general fatigue, loss of appetite); and mesenteric phlebosclerosis — from long-term use — with repeated abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation and bloating. Stop taking it and see a doctor immediately if any of these appear.
- More common reactions to stop for and ask about: rash, redness or itching on the skin; nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite or stomach discomfort.
- Diarrhoea can occur. If it persists or worsens, stop taking the tablets and seek advice.
- Contains licorice root (甘草 kanzo). If you already take another licorice-containing preparation, or you intend to take this one for a prolonged period, speak to a doctor or pharmacist first.
- Contains lactose. Check this line if you avoid dairy-derived ingredients.
