- Taiso (Ziziphus jujuba fruit) — 1 g
- Shukusha (Amomum / cardamom seed) — 0.75 g
- Kanzo (Glycyrrhiza / licorice root) — 0.5 g
- Kakko (Agastache / patchouli herb) — 0.5 g
- Shokyo (Ginger rhizome) — 0.33 g

That is not what it is licensed to do, and we are not going to tell you otherwise. Koshaheisan is approved in Japan for appetite disturbance, loss of appetite, acute and chronic gastritis, and indigestion, in people of moderate constitution whose stomach sits heavy after eating too much. Kobayashi's own marketing points it at the pre-menstrual appetite, which is a reasonable place to point a digestive preparation, but the licence is a digestive licence. You may see this product described elsewhere in terms of a hormonal mechanism acting on the appetite centre of the brain. That description does not come from the manufacturer and is not an approved indication, so we do not make it.
