Description

Kose Clear Turn Babyish Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask, 7 Sheets

Overview

Babyish is Kose Cosmeport's hydration-first sheet-mask line, launched in late 2014 and still stocked in every large Japanese drugstore. This is the plain moisturising version: a Japanese cotton sheet soaking in a lotion built around hyaluronic acid, Lipidure and amino acids, free from fragrance, colourant, mineral oil, alcohol, silicone and surfactants. Seven sheets share one tub, which is how Japanese customers run a mask course rather than a one-off treatment. See also our Japanese sheet masks.

Key Benefits

  • ✓ Hyaluronic acid plus Lipidure, a phospholipid polymer that helps hold water at the surface
  • ✓ Amino acids and chamomile extract for a calm, comfortable finish
  • ✓ Japanese cotton sheet that sits closely against the face
  • ✓ Free from fragrance, colourant, mineral oil, alcohol, silicone and surfactants
  • ✓ Seven-sheet course format — designed to be used regularly, not saved for special occasions

Who Is This For?

  • Normal to dry skin that mainly needs water, not oil
  • Anyone who wants a simple, low-additive mask without fragrance or alcohol
  • People running a mask course two or three times a week
  • Note: contains peppermint oil and menthol — see Cautions if your skin stings easily

How to Use

  1. Cleanse and apply your toner or lotion as usual
  2. Unfold the sheet and lay it over the face, lining up the eye and mouth openings
  3. Smooth it down from the centre outwards so it sits flat against the skin
  4. Leave on for 10–15 minutes — do not leave it until it dries out
  5. Remove and pat the remaining essence into the skin instead of rinsing

Frequency: Two or three times a week, morning or evening

Full Ingredients

Water, BG, DPG, sorbitol, chamomile extract, glycosyl trehalose, peppermint leaf oil, menthol. The line also declares hyaluronic acid, Lipidure and amino-acid humectants; the printed panel on your pack is the authoritative version.

Ingredient list as declared by the manufacturer. Formulations are occasionally revised, so always read the list printed on the package you receive.

Cautions

  • Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
  • Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
  • The cooling sensation comes from menthol and peppermint oil, not from any active treatment — if that feeling bothers you, this is not the right mask for you.
  • Once the tub is opened the sheets are meant to be used within about 80 days — the lotion is shared between all seven sheets, so it can dry out or spoil after that.
  • Take sheets out with clean, dry hands. Wet or dirty fingers introduce water and bacteria into the shared lotion.
  • Contains menthol or mint oil, which can sting reactive skin — patch test first if your skin is easily irritated.
  • Do not leave the sheet on until it dries out — a drying sheet draws moisture back out of the skin.
  • Single use only. Do not reuse a sheet, and do not use one that smells or looks different from usual.
  • This product contains no sun filters and does not protect skin from UV — apply your sunscreen separately.

Package Contents

One tub containing 7 Kose Clear Turn Babyish moisturising sheet masks in shared lotion.

FAQ

What does Lipidure do?

Lipidure is a phospholipid-type polymer used widely in Japanese skincare as a humectant. It forms a very thin film that helps the surface of the skin hold on to water for longer than glycerin alone. It is a moisturising ingredient — it does not treat anything.

Why does it feel cool on the face?

Because the lotion contains peppermint leaf oil and menthol. That is a sensory ingredient, pleasant on a hot day and unwelcome if your skin is reactive. It has no bearing on how hydrating the mask is, so if menthol stings you, choose a mint-free mask instead.

Why is it a tub of seven sheets instead of individual sachets?

The Japanese mask market largely moved to course packs — 7 or 30 sheets sitting in a shared lotion — because it is cheaper per sheet and because using masks as a course shows more of a difference than an occasional single sheet. The trade-off is hygiene: keep your hands dry and finish the pack within about 80 days of opening.

Can I warm the mask up?

Yes, and in winter it is worth doing. Stand the unopened pack in warm — not hot — water for about five minutes before taking out a sheet. A lukewarm sheet is more comfortable on cold skin and it stops the shock of a chilled mask on the face. Never microwave it.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

The declared ingredient list is plant- and mineral-derived, with no animal ingredients, so it fits a vegan routine. It carries no halal certification, however — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
