Description

KOSE Grace One Wrinkle Care Moist Gel Cream, 100 g

Overview

This is the wrinkle-care member of KOSE's Grace One range: a seven-in-one gel cream aimed at the first visible signs of ageing, built around niacinamide with hydrolysed collagen, hyaluronic acid, squalane, royal jelly, macadamia oil and vitamin E.

Before anything else: this formula contains a bee product and a tree-nut oil, and the previous version of this page presented both as benefits without a word of warning. If you have either allergy, this is not your product. Everyone else can read on. See also our Japanese moisturisers.

Key Benefits

  • Niacinamide, the best-evidenced ingredient in the formula, associated in the literature with barrier support and a more even-looking tone
  • Hydrolysed collagen and hyaluronic acid as film-forming humectants for a plumped, cushioned finish
  • Squalane and macadamia oil as the emollient pair, giving the cream its softness
  • Royal jelly, a traditional Japanese cosmetic ingredient in this age category
  • Vitamin E as the antioxidant, and the reason the texture stays stable
  • One jar standing in for lotion, serum, milk, face cream, massage cream, eye cream and neck cream — seven steps, one purchase

Who Is This For?

  • Skin in the late thirties and forties noticing the first fine lines rather than established folds
  • Anyone who wants a simple one-jar evening routine with a well-evidenced active in it
  • Normal to dry skin that likes a cushioned, slightly rich finish
  • Absolutely not for anyone allergic to bee products — the formula contains royal jelly
  • Absolutely not for anyone with a tree-nut allergy — the formula contains macadamia oil

How to Use

  1. After cleansing, take a pearl-sized amount with a clean spatula.
  2. Warm between the palms and press over face and neck.
  3. Use it as your routine after cleansing, or over a toner if your skin is dry.
  4. Patch test on the inner forearm for 24 hours before first use — more important than usual here, given the allergens.

Frequency: Morning and evening; in the morning, follow with sunscreen.

Full Ingredients

Disclosed key ingredients: niacinamide (vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid, hydrolysed collagen, squalane, royal jelly, macadamia nut oil, vitamin E.

KOSE does not publish a complete INCI list for this SKU online. Two of the disclosed ingredients are common allergens and are named in the cautions below rather than buried here: royal jelly is a bee product, and macadamia oil comes from a tree nut. Hydrolysed collagen is an animal protein, so the formula is not vegan.

The manufacturer publishes the actives and the headline ingredients but not the complete INCI list online. What is shown above is what is disclosed; the full list is printed on the package you receive.

Cautions

  • Contains a bee-derived ingredient (royal jelly) — avoid if you are allergic to bee products.
  • Contains nut-derived oil — do not use if you have a tree-nut allergy.
  • Contains animal-derived ingredients — not suitable for vegans.
  • This product contains no sun filters and does not protect skin from UV — apply your sunscreen separately.
  • This is a cosmetic. It can make skin look smoother and better hydrated; it does not regenerate cells, slow ageing or treat inflammation, and we have removed those statements from this page.
  • Jar packaging: take product with clean, dry hands or a spatula.
  • Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
  • Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

FAQ

Why is the allergen warning so prominent on this page?

Because it was not there at all before, and it should have been. Royal jelly is a bee product and a recognised cause of allergic reactions, occasionally severe ones in people with existing bee or pollen allergies. Macadamia oil is a tree nut oil. Our earlier version of this page listed both as selling points, with the royal jelly line describing what it supposedly does for the skin and no mention of who should avoid it. That was our error and this is the correction.

What can this cream realistically do?

Hydrate well, feel comfortable, and — through the niacinamide — support the barrier and, over months, make tone look more even. That is a solid, evidence-backed list for a drugstore moisturiser. What it will not do is remove wrinkles, and the earlier version of this page said it eliminated fine wrinkles and slowed ageing. Those are drug claims, they are not permitted for a cosmetic in Japan or the EU, and we have taken them out.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

The formula contains royal jelly and hydrolysed collagen, both animal-derived, so it is not vegan. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.

The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?

The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market. Where an ingredient list appears on this page, it is translated from that labelling or from the manufacturer's own published data; where the manufacturer does not publish one, the ingredients section says so rather than filling the gap. Either way, send us a photo of anything unclear on the box after delivery and we will translate it, and ask us before ordering if you need the full label list first.

Will I pay customs duty or import VAT?

That depends on your country and on the declared value of the parcel, not on us. We ship from Japan with a correct customs declaration and full tracking; any duty or import VAT your country charges is collected by your local carrier or customs office on delivery. Check your national de-minimis threshold before ordering if you want to avoid a surprise.
