Lion Ban Sweat Block Foot Gel 40 ml — Japanese Quasi-Drug Antiperspirant for Feet
Overview
Ban Foot Gel is Lion's antiperspirant for feet: a quick-drying gel that goes on before shoes and socks and is meant to hold for the working day. In Japan it is a 医薬部外品 — a quasi-drug, which means it declares its actives rather than implying them.
There are two. Aluminium chlorohydrate (ACH) is the antiperspirant: it forms a temporary plug in the sweat duct, which is how every aluminium-salt antiperspirant works and is why the feet stay drier. Isopropyl methylphenol (IPMP) is the bactericide: foot odour is made by skin bacteria breaking down sweat, and IPMP acts on them. Sweat control and odour control are two different jobs and this product does both.
The gel dries fast, does not leave a sticky film, and does not mark socks or shoes. Lightly herbal scent, 40 ml bottle. We ship from Kobe.

Who Is This For?
- People whose feet sweat through a working day in closed shoes
- Anyone who wants the odour and the sweat treated separately rather than masked with fragrance
- People who prefer a gel they can apply between the toes, where a spray does not reach
- Anyone who has to take shoes off in someone else's home, a restaurant or a fitting room
- Not for use on broken, inflamed or fungal-infected skin — see a doctor about athlete's foot rather than covering it
How to Use
- Use it on clean, completely dry feet — after a shower, dried carefully, including between the toes.
- Apply a thin layer to the soles and between the toes with the roller.
- Let it dry for a few seconds; it dries on its own and does not need rubbing in.
- Put socks and shoes on once it is dry.
- Apply in the morning before the day starts, rather than on feet that are already sweating.
Frequency: Once a day, in the morning. Reapply after washing the feet if you need to.
Full Ingredients
Actives (有効成分): aluminium chlorohydrate (ACH) — antiperspirant · isopropyl methylphenol (IPMP) — bactericide.
Other ingredients include: ethanol, polyoxyethylene-modified dimethicone, hydroxypropylcellulose, acrylic acid polymer, and fragrance.
The full list is printed on the bottle. Lion revises the formula between production runs, and we would rather point you at the label than print a list that may be a version behind — we will photograph the one on the stock we hold if you ask before ordering.
Cautions
- Contains ethanol, so it is flammable. Keep away from open flame and do not use near a heat source.
- Do not use on skin that is broken, inflamed, sunburned, or affected by a rash or eczema.
- Do not use it to cover up athlete's foot. If the skin between your toes is itching, peeling, weeping or cracked, see a doctor or pharmacist — an antiperspirant is not a treatment for a fungal infection and sealing the area can make it worse.
- Stop using it if redness, itching, swelling or irritation appears, and see a doctor if it continues.
- Aluminium salts can irritate skin that has just been shaved or scrubbed. Leave a day between exfoliating and using this.
- Do not apply to areas other than the feet.
- Keep away from the eyes; rinse with plenty of water if it gets in.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store away from direct sunlight and high temperature, and close the cap after use so the gel does not dry out.
- Contains alcohol. We make no halal claim for this product; it carries no halal certification. If that matters to you, please review the ingredient information above with your religious authority.

FAQ
What actually stops the sweat?
Aluminium chlorohydrate. It reacts with sweat in the duct and forms a temporary plug, which reduces how much reaches the surface. That is the mechanism behind every aluminium-salt antiperspirant, Western or Japanese. It wears off — this is a daily product, not a treatment.
Is it a deodorant or an antiperspirant?
Both, and it declares an active for each: aluminium chlorohydrate for the sweat, isopropyl methylphenol for the bacteria that turn sweat into smell. Products that only perfume the foot do neither.
Can I use it if I have athlete's foot?
No — please see a doctor or pharmacist first. Athlete's foot is a fungal infection, and this is an antiperspirant. Sealing damaged, moist skin can make the problem worse rather than better. Treat the infection first, then come back to sweat control.
Will it stain my socks or shoes?
It is designed not to. The gel dries clear and quickly, and does not leave the white residue that powder sprays can. Let it dry fully before putting socks on.
How long does 40 ml last?
It depends entirely on how much you use and how often, so we would rather not print a number of applications on your behalf. A thin layer on the soles and between the toes is what the roller is sized for, and most people use it once each morning.
