Overview

A single-use adhesive sheet that warms the base of your neck to about 40 °C for about 30 minutes — roughly bath temperature, for roughly the length of a wind-down. Open the individual sachet and the warming element starts on contact with air; there is nothing to plug in, microwave or wet. Kao designs the Megrhythm steam range around moist warmth rather than dry heat, which is why it reads more like a warm towel than a heat pad.

This is the unscented version, for people who do not want a fragrance at bedtime; a lavender variant exists in the same line. Note that Kao renamed the product in summer 2025 — it was 「めぐりズム 蒸気でグッドナイト」 and is now 「めぐりズム 蒸気めぐる首もとシート グッドナイト」, with redesigned packaging and sheet. How to Use

1. Open one individual sachet. The sheet begins to warm as soon as it meets the air.
2. Peel off the release paper.
3. Apply it directly to the skin at the base of the neck (首のつけ根). Press it flat so no part of the adhesive lifts or wrinkles.
4. Wear it for about 30 minutes while it warms, holds and then cools.
5. Remove it before you go to sleep. Kao advises this because hair can get caught in the sheet. Single use — do not re-apply it.

Frequency: Kao positions it as a daily habit for the end of the day — after work, in your own time, or before bed. Twelve sheets per box.

The sheet is the barrier between the warming element and your skin, which is why it should never be opened, torn or reused.

Cautions

• Do not use if warmth gives you eczema or hives, if your sensitivity to temperature is reduced or heightened, if your skin reacts badly to adhesive plasters, or if you cannot remove the sheet yourself.
• Do not apply over a bruise or sprain that is still hot or swollen, over cuts, grazes or insect bites, over eczema or irritated skin, or over an area where you are using a topical medicine.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist first if you are under medical treatment, have diabetes or a circulatory disorder, flush easily, have a fever or an inflammatory condition, have previously reacted to medicines or cosmetics, or are pregnant.
• To avoid a low-temperature burn: stop using it at once if it feels too hot or if you notice pain or anything unusual, and apply it so the adhesive does not wrinkle, lift or peel away.
• Remove the sheet before sleeping — Kao advises this because hair can get caught in it.
• Stop use and see a doctor if eczema or irritation appears, or if redness or itching persists. Skin reddening or mild itching as the skin warms can be temporary and normal.
• Do not heat in a microwave.
• Keep the sachet away from electrical outlets — contact can cause ignition.
• The sachet may swell during storage; this does not affect the product. A damaged sachet may not warm. Store out of direct sunlight, away from heat sources and high temperatures.
• Keep out of reach of children. This is a relaxation product and does not treat, cure or prevent any condition — see a healthcare professional about persistent pain or symptoms.

FAQ

Can I fall asleep wearing it?

Kao recommends taking the sheet off when you go to sleep, because hair can get caught in it. That is the maker's instruction and it is the one to follow. The timing works out anyway: the warmth lasts about 30 minutes, so if you put it on as you start winding down, it has done its job by the time you are ready to lie down.

How hot does it get, and for how long?

About 40 °C — roughly the temperature of a comfortable bath — for about 30 minutes. Both figures are Kao's own. It warms gradually, holds, then cools on its own; there is no switch and nothing to time.

What is actually in it?

Kao declares two things: the skin-side fabric is polypropylene, and the warming element contains iron powder. That is the whole published composition. It is a warming device rather than a cosmetic, so nothing is absorbed into the skin and there is no ingredient list in the cosmetic sense.

Is this the same as the old 蒸気でグッドナイト?

It is the same product line under a new name. In summer 2025 Kao renamed it from 「めぐりズム 蒸気でグッドナイト」 to 「めぐりズム 蒸気めぐる首もとシート グッドナイト」 and redesigned both the box and the sheet, phasing the change in through that summer and autumn. The JAN for this unscented 12-pack is 4901301348111.

Will it help with neck pain?

We would not sell it to you on that basis. Kao positions it as a relaxation product for the end of the day, and that is how we describe it: gentle moist warmth at the base of the neck, for about half an hour. It is not a medicated patch and it does not treat injury, inflammation or persistent pain — those belong with a healthcare professional.
