This is the DET Clear peeling jelly aimed at mature skin: the same weekly rinse-off exfoliation as the original gel, but the base carries retinyl palmitate, bakuchiol and niacinamide alongside ceramides, hyaluronic acid and bee-derived ingredients. How to Use
- Apply 3–5 pumps to cleansed skin, which may be damp
- Spread it over the face, avoiding the eye area
- Massage gently and let the jelly do the work

Cautions
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
- Contains propolis, honey and royal jelly. Bee products are a recognised cause of allergic reactions, including severe ones, in people allergic to bee stings or pollen and in some asthmatics. Do not use if that applies to you.
- Exfoliating acids can make skin more sensitive to sunlight — use a daily sunscreen while you are using this product.
- Contains a retinol-type ingredient: use sunscreen during the day and avoid it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless your doctor agrees.
- Contains animal-derived ingredients — not suitable for vegans.
- Also contains soy sterols and hydrogenated lecithin — worth checking if you have a soy allergy.
- Scented with added fragrance as well as botanical extracts — patch test if scented skincare tends to irritate you.

FAQ
What is bakuchiol and is it really a retinol alternative?
Bakuchiol is a compound from the babchi plant, and it is widely marketed as a plant alternative to retinol because early studies suggested comparable effects on skin appearance with less irritation. The evidence base is much smaller than retinol's. Note that this product contains both bakuchiol and retinyl palmitate, so the retinol cautions still apply.
Are those little rolls my dead skin coming off?
Mostly no, and it is worth being clear about it. The crumbs that form under your fingers are largely the gel itself — cellulose and polymers rolling up as you massage — mixed with surface debris and sebum. That is how this type of Japanese peeling gel is designed to work. The actual exfoliation comes from the acids and the enzyme, not from the amount of crumbs you can see.
Can I really use it in the shower?
Yes — this is the difference from the original DET Clear gel, which needs dry skin. This jelly is formulated to work on damp skin, which makes it far easier to fit into a routine. Keep it away from the eye area and rinse thoroughly.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
No to both. The formula contains royal jelly, honey, propolis and soluble collagen. The bee ingredients also make it an allergy risk for some people, which is covered in the Cautions above. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
Will I pay customs duty or import VAT?
