Description
DHC New Slim (ニュースリム) 80 Capsules, 20 Days — Japanese Botanical and B-Vitamin Supplement
Overview
DHC ニュースリム is a Japanese softgel supplement built around eight plant extracts and three B vitamins. The daily guideline is four capsules (1,920 mg), so one pouch of 80 capsules covers 20 days. Per daily dose: seaweed powder 200 mg, gymnema extract 120 mg, citrus aurantium extract 40 mg, melilot extract 40 mg, soy peptide 40 mg, soy lecithin 40 mg, eucommia extract 20 mg, barley extract 20 mg, and vitamins B1, B2 and B6 at 12 mg each.
This is an ordinary Japanese food supplement — it carries no Food with Function Claims notification, so neither DHC nor we may attach an outcome to it. Two of the extracts are standardised to active compounds that need reading before you buy: synephrine and coumarin. Both are quantified under Cautions.

Who Is This For?

- People already familiar with gymnema, eucommia and barley extracts in Japanese formulations
- Anyone comparing this against a simpler product — the standardisations here are what set it apart, and they cut both ways
- NOT for people with cardiovascular conditions, raised blood pressure or thyroid disease, and not alongside stimulants or MAO inhibitors — this contains synephrine
- NOT for pregnant or nursing women, children, or anyone taking anticoagulants — see Cautions on coumarin
How to Use
- Take 4 capsules a day with water or lukewarm water.
- You may split them, for example two in the morning and two in the evening; many people take them before meals.
- Do not exceed four capsules a day, and do not take them late in the evening if you are sensitive to stimulants.
- Close the pouch after use and store away from heat and humidity.
Frequency: 4 capsules daily, 20-day supply

Cautions
- Contains synephrine — about 12 mg a day, from 40 mg of citrus aurantium extract standardised to 30%. Synephrine is a stimulant-type amine. Do not take this product if you have a cardiovascular condition, raised blood pressure or thyroid disease, or if you take stimulants or MAO inhibitors, and do not combine it with large amounts of caffeine
- Contains coumarin — about 2 mg a day, from 40 mg of melilot extract standardised to 5%. Coumarin intake is limited in the EU and matters to anyone taking an anticoagulant: ask your doctor before starting
- Not for pregnant or nursing women or for children. If you are under treatment or take any medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist first, and stop taking it if you feel unwell
- This is a food supplement with no notified function. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any disease, it does not replace a balanced diet, and no capsule substitutes for how and how much you eat
- Contains soy and gelatin. Check the ingredient list against your own allergies before use
- Keep to four capsules a day; store away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity and out of reach of children

FAQ
There is synephrine in this. Is that a problem?
It can be. Synephrine is a stimulant-type amine related to the compounds found in bitter orange, and this product supplies roughly 12 mg a day. That is a reason not to take it if you have a heart condition, raised blood pressure or thyroid disease, or if you already take stimulant medication — and a reason to ask your doctor if you are unsure.
What does the coumarin figure mean?
Melilot (sweet clover) extract here is standardised to 5% coumarin, so four capsules supply about 2 mg. Coumarin has a tolerable daily intake in the EU and interacts with the reasoning behind anticoagulant therapy, so anyone on blood-thinning medication should ask their doctor before starting.
Will it make me lose weight?
We cannot tell you that, and we will not. The product has no notified function in Japan and no authorised health claim in the EU or the UK. What it is, is a capsule with eight plant extracts and three B vitamins in the quantities printed above.
Is it suitable for vegetarians, or for a halal diet?
The shell is gelatin and the maker does not declare its source, so we cannot describe the product as vegetarian, and it holds no halal certificate. If that matters to you, this is not the right product.
Is this the original Japanese product, and how long does delivery take?
Yes: the Japanese retail version of ニュースリム, shipped from Kobe with tracking. Processing takes 2–6 business days, then transit depends on the service chosen at checkout; import duties and taxes may apply depending on your country.
