Overview
NMN taisho is Taisho Pharmaceutical's own NMN supplement, sold in 30 individually sealed foil pouches of three capsules. One pouch a day supplies 250 mg of nicotinamide mononucleotide, 100 mg of ellagic acid from pomegranate extract, 25 mg of resveratrol from grape-skin extract, and 5.0 mg each of vitamins B1, B2 and B6. Taisho was founded in 1912 and is one of Japan's larger over-the-counter medicine manufacturers; this product, however, is sold as a food and not as a medicine.
In Japan this product is an ordinary food (一般食品). It is neither a Food with Function Claims (機能性表示食品) nor a Food with Nutrient Function Claims (栄養機能食品), which means no health or physiological effect has been notified to or reviewed by the Consumer Affairs Agency and none may lawfully be claimed for it. The description below therefore says what each ingredient is and how much of it the maker declares, and stops there.
Before you order into the European Union. Nicotinamide mononucleotide has no record of significant consumption in the EU before 15 May 1997, so under Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 it is a novel food and needs authorisation before it may be placed on the EU market. EFSA issued a favourable safety opinion on 13 May 2026, but that opinion covers one applicant's material at 300 mg a day and excludes pregnancy and breastfeeding; a novel-food authorisation of that kind is specific to the applicant and does not extend to Japanese NMN from another producer. The position is different elsewhere: the United States confirmed NMN as lawful in dietary supplements in a letter of 29 September 2025, and Japan sells it as an ordinary food. We state this so that a customer in the EU can decide with the facts in front of them; personal-import rules are set by your own country and we cannot advise on them.

The declaration states that the starch hydrolysate is manufactured in Japan. It makes no country statement about the NMN itself, so neither do we.
Cautions

- Contains titanium dioxide (E171) as a colour. The EU withdrew its authorisation as a food additive by Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/63, prohibited from 7 February 2022, after EFSA's 2021 opinion could not rule out genotoxicity. It remains permitted in Japan and in medicines. If you avoid it, this is not the NMN product for you.
- Vitamin B6 is 5.0 mg a day — about 42% of the 12 mg tolerable upper intake level EFSA set for adults in 2023. B1, B2 and B6 here run roughly 350–450% of EU nutrient reference values. That is not in itself a problem, but count anything else you take that contains B vitamins before adding this.
- Halal and vegetarian: the capsule shell is HPMC, not gelatin, and no animal ingredient is declared. Confirm against the pack in hand if this matters to you, because makers reformulate.

FAQ
Can I have this shipped to an EU country?
We ship there, but you should know the legal position first. NMN is an unauthorised novel food in the EU: no NMN has completed the authorisation procedure, and EFSA's favourable opinion of 13 May 2026 is specific to one applicant's material, not to Japanese NMN generally. What your own country permits an individual to import for personal use is a separate question that only your national authority can answer. We would rather you read that here than find it out at a customs desk.
How much NMN does one pouch actually give me?
250 mg, from three capsules taken together. That is the whole daily amount — the pouch is the serving, not the capsule.
Why does the ingredient list end with a colour?
The capsule shell is coloured with titanium dioxide. It is there for appearance, not for any effect. It is lawful in food in Japan and is not lawful in food in the EU — the cautions section sets out the regulation and the date.
What do the pomegranate and grape-skin extracts do?
We are not permitted to tell you, and would not be able to demonstrate it if we were. This is an ordinary food in Japan, so no physiological function may be claimed for anything in it. What we can tell you is the amounts, which the maker publishes: ellagic acid 100 mg and resveratrol 25 mg a day. Compare those with whatever else you are considering.
How is it shipped, and how long does it take?
