FAQ

Does it contain retinol?

No — and we want to be clear because our own earlier description said it did. The published ingredient list contains no retinol and no proteoglycan either, despite both being mentioned in older marketing copy for this cream. What the list does contain is a peptide, collagen, elastin, marine extracts and a rich emollient base. We have corrected the description rather than repeat the error.

What are ElasPro, ElasRich and Collaplus?

They are Rohto's trade names for specific ingredients rather than technologies in their own right. Elas Pro is Asparagopsis armata, a red seaweed extract; Elas Rich is gagome kelp extract; Elas Grow is tetrapeptide-5; Collaplus is hydrolysed soy protein. Naming ingredients this way is standard in Japanese cosmetics — it is worth translating the names back into ingredients before deciding what you think of them.

Will it actually lift my face?

It is called a lift cream, so it is fair to ask. A cosmetic cream can make skin look plumper and smoother by hydrating it and by conditioning the surface, and a good rich cream does that noticeably. It cannot reposition facial tissue. If the loss of contour is what concerns you most, this is a cream to make skin look and feel better, not a substitute for a procedure.
