No, and the title has been corrected. オクトserapie is a separate Lion line and comes in 230 ml bottles. This set is 320 ml × 2, which is the plain Octo medicated shampoo and rinse. Both are Lion, both are anti-dandruff, but they are different products and you should get the one you meant to.
Does it get rid of dandruff I already have?
The approval this product holds is for preventing dandruff and itching, and that is the honest claim. In practice people using a piroctone olamine shampoo regularly do usually see flaking reduce, but that is a different sentence from "it removes dandruff", and Japanese regulation does not let the maker write the second one. Our old page did, and it should not have.
Why does the rinse have an active ingredient too?
Because a conditioner applied after a medicated shampoo can undo part of the point — you have just put an active on the scalp and are now coating it. Lion puts piroctone olamine in the rinse as well, so the second step works with the first rather than against it.
How long should I leave it on?
A minute or two on the scalp before rinsing. This is the single biggest difference between people who find medicated shampoos work and people who find they do nothing. Rinsed out immediately, an anti-dandruff shampoo is just a shampoo.
Will it strip colour-treated hair?
It is a sulfate-based cleansing system, so it cleans thoroughly and will fade a fresh colour faster than a sulfate-free shampoo would. If colour retention matters more to you than the scalp, use this two or three times a week and something milder in between.
