Description
Sana Esteny Body Massage Gel — Japanese Ginger and Seaweed Massage Gel, 180 g
Overview
A 180 g warming massage gel from Sana's Esteny body line, meant for the areas people most often want to work on with their hands: lower abdomen, thighs, hips. Ginger oil provides the warmth, seaweed and mineral extract the slip, apple polyphenols the antioxidant component, and honey softens the finish.
It is a leave-on gel — you apply it to dry skin and do not rinse. The warmth you feel is a real response to the ginger, and it does bring blood to the surface, which is why the skin looks briefly more even afterwards. That is a cosmetic, temporary effect, and we would rather say so than promise you a body measurement. See also our Japanese body care and Japanese moisturisers.

Who Is This For?
- Anyone who does a regular hand massage on thighs, hips or lower abdomen and wants slip plus warmth
- People who prefer a gel to a heavy cream on the body
- Use before or after exercise, when the warming sensation is most welcome
- Anyone who dislikes rinse-off body products and wants one less step
- Not for you if you are allergic to bee products, or if you avoid animal ingredients — the formula contains honey
How to Use
- Dry your skin completely after showering — the gel is designed for dry, not damp, skin.
- Squeeze a generous amount onto your palm.
- Apply to one area at a time and massage with firm strokes towards the heart for at least three minutes.
- Do not rinse. Let it absorb, then dress once the skin is no longer tacky.
- Wash your hands before touching your face or eyes.
Frequency: Once or twice a day on the areas you are working on. The habit matters more than the amount.
Full Ingredients
Components the manufacturer names: ginger oil, seaweed and mineral extract, honey, apple polyphenols, fragrance.
Sana does not publish a complete INCI list for this gel online, so the above is what is disclosed rather than the full formula — read the list printed on the tube you receive. One correction to the previous version of this page: seaweed and iodine do not eliminate toxins from the body or regulate weight, and honey does not restore muscle fibre. Honey is an emollient and a humectant here, and it is a bee product, which is the part that actually matters to some customers.
Cautions
- Contains honey, a bee product — avoid if you are allergic to bee products, and note that the product is therefore not vegan.
- Contains animal-derived ingredients — not suitable for vegans.
- Ginger oil warms the skin by irritating nerve endings: do not apply to broken, freshly shaved or sunburned skin, and keep it away from the eyes and genital area.
- This is a cosmetic massage gel. It does not remove toxins, reduce body fat or regulate weight.
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

FAQ
Can a cream remove cellulite or reduce fat?
No. Cellulite is the way fat sits inside the connective-tissue chambers under the skin, and no cream reaches that layer or removes fat from the body — massage, warming ingredients and caffeine temporarily plump and flush the surface, so skin can look smoother for some hours. That effect is real, it is cosmetic, and it is short-lived. Long-term change in body composition comes from what you eat and how you move, not from what you rub on. Products claiming injection-free liposuction are describing something that does not happen.
Why does it burn, and is that a sign it is working?
The heat comes from an ingredient that irritates nerve endings and widens surface blood vessels — capsicum in the scrub, ginger in the gel. It is a real physiological response and it does bring blood to the skin, but the intensity of the burn is not a dose meter and a stronger sting is not a better result. Wash it off if it becomes uncomfortable, never use it on broken or freshly shaved skin, and keep it away from your eyes and the genital area. Wash your hands afterwards before touching your face.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
Contains honey, a bee product — avoid if you are allergic to bee products, and note that the product is therefore not vegan. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?
The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market. Where an ingredient list appears on this page, it is translated from that labelling or from the manufacturer's own published data; where the manufacturer does not publish one, the ingredients section says so rather than filling the gap. Either way, send us a photo of anything unclear on the box after delivery and we will translate it, and ask us before ordering if you need the full label list first.
Will I pay customs duty or import VAT?
That depends on your country and on the declared value of the parcel, not on us. We ship from Japan with a correct customs declaration and full tracking; any duty or import VAT your country charges is collected by your local carrier or customs office on delivery. Check your national de-minimis threshold before ordering if you want to avoid a surprise.
