How to Use
- Wet the beard thoroughly with warm water first — a soaked beard cuts far more easily than a dry one.
- Apply shaving cream, foam or soap and leave it a moment to work.
- Shave with the grain first, in short strokes, letting the pivoting head follow the jaw rather than pressing it into the skin.
- Rinse the head through under running water between passes.
- Only go against the grain on a second pass, and only if your skin tolerates it.
- Rinse, dry and stand the razor head-up to drain.

Materials and Construction
Blade. Stainless blade steel with a platinum-alloy and resin double coating, which is Feather's stated construction for its cartridge blades. Two blades per cartridge.
Cartridge body and handle. ABS resin and rubber.
Made by. Feather Safety Razor Co., Ltd., founded 1932. Feather states that every step from production to dispatch is managed inside its own plants; its blade works are in Gifu Prefecture, at Seki and Mino.
Lubricating strip. The cartridge carries a lubricating strip containing vitamin E.
Cautions
- The blades are extremely sharp. Handle the cartridge by its body, never by the blade edge.
- Do not share a razor or a cartridge with anyone. Razors draw blood more often than people notice, and sharing one is a route for blood-borne infection.
- Replace the cartridge when it starts to pull or tug rather than on a fixed schedule. A blade that drags is the one that causes nicks and irritation.
- Do not use over broken, irritated or sunburnt skin, or over moles and raised lesions.
- Rinse the head through after every shave and let it dry standing up; a wet cartridge dulls and harbours bacteria.
- Keep out of reach of children, away from heaters, direct sunlight and heat.
- Dispose of used cartridges so that nobody can be cut by them — wrap them, or use a blade bank.
- For shaving hair only. Not a medical or surgical instrument.

Which refill cartridges fit it?
Feather's consumer F-System cartridges, sold ten to a box. Feather designed the F-System so that one cartridge shape serves its current cartridge holders rather than one handle each, and it publishes a compatibility index for exactly this question. How long does one cartridge last?
As long as it shaves cleanly, which depends on your beard and how many passes you take — not on a number of days. Change it when it starts to pull rather than glide. A cartridge that drags is what causes nicks and razor burn, so waiting it out costs more than a new cartridge does.
Does it come apart for cleaning?
The cartridge lifts off the head; the head and handle are one piece. Rinse the cartridge through from the back under running water after each shave and stand the razor head-up so it drains. Do not pick at the blades with a cloth or a brush — you will roll the edge and cut yourself.
Can it go in hand luggage?
A cartridge razor is generally accepted in cabin baggage while loose double-edge blades are not, but the rule is the airline's and the airport's, not ours, and it differs by country. Check before you fly.
