How to Use
- After your whitening toner, dispense one to two pumps into your palm.
- Warm briefly, then press over the face and down the neck.
- Let it settle for a minute before sunscreen or makeup.
- In winter, follow with the Shirojun Premium cream if your skin still feels tight.
Frequency: Morning and evening. In the morning, always finish with sunscreen.
Full Ingredients

Cautions
- This is a Japanese quasi-drug (iyakubugaihin): the active ingredients and the effect claimed for them have been reviewed by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Outside Japan it is sold as an ordinary cosmetic.
- This product contains no sun filters and does not protect skin from UV — apply your sunscreen separately.
- The approved claim is prevention of sun-induced spots and freckles, not removal of existing pigmentation.

FAQ
How is Shirojun Premium different from plain Shirojun?
Plain Shirojun carries one whitening active, tranexamic acid, plus allantoin. Premium keeps the tranexamic acid and swaps in dipotassium glycyrrhizate as the second approved active, an anti-inflammatory chosen because irritation is one of the things that pushes pigment cells into overdrive. Premium is also the richer, more emollient texture of the two lines. Neither is approved to remove pigmentation you already have; both are approved to help prevent new sun-driven spots.
Emulsion or cream — do I need both?
Usually not at the same time. In Japan the pattern is seasonal: the emulsion from late spring through summer, the cream from autumn through winter. If your skin is very dry, layering the cream over the emulsion in the coldest months is reasonable, but you are not doubling the active dose by doing it — both carry the same two approved actives, so the second layer is doing occlusion work, not brightening work.
Do I still need sunscreen while using this?
Yes, and it is not a detail you can skip. Ultraviolet light is what drives melanin production in the first place, so a brightening routine without daily sun protection is a bucket with a hole in it. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every morning you will see daylight, including through windows and on overcast days.
The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?
The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market. Where an ingredient list appears on this page, it is translated from that labelling or from the manufacturer's own published data; where the manufacturer does not publish one, the ingredients section says so rather than filling the gap.
