Fine Today. SENKA was created inside Shiseido and moved with the personal-care business when it changed hands, so a great many people still search for it as "Shiseido Senka" — which is why we keep the phrase on the page. But the maker today is Fine Today, our vendor field already said so, and the meta title that still said Shiseido has been corrected.
Which Perfect Whip is this? There seem to be several.
This is the plain moisturising variant, a cosmetic. The line also includes an Acne Care version, which is a quasi-drug with dipotassium glycyrrhizinate as a declared active, and a White Clay version. They are separate products; if you want the medicated one, do not order this one.
Do I need a foaming net?
No, but it changes the experience. The formula whips up well in wet hands; a net gets it denser and stiffer with less product. If you have wondered why Japanese cleansing videos always show a net, this is the kind of product that answers the question.
Will it remove makeup?
Not properly, and it is not meant to. It is the second step. Use an oil or a micellar remover first, then this. Trying to do both jobs with a foam is how people end up rubbing at their eyes.
Is it too drying for dry skin?
It is a foaming wash, so it does clean thoroughly, but glycerin and hyaluronic acid are in the formula and most people with normal to slightly dry skin get on with it. If your skin is very dry or reactive, a cream or milk cleanser is a gentler category to start from.
