What it is for. The Japanese name is 資生堂 スポンジパフ アーティストタッチ（乳化タイプ用）: a puff for emulsified foundation — liquid and cream. Shiseido shapes it to the contours of the face rather than to a compact well, and sells it as a hand-held applicator.
Two things claimed for this puff that we cannot support. That it "fits standard compact cases" and is compatible with comparable compacts from other brands: Shiseido makes no such claim, and if you need a puff that sits inside a particular case, measure your case or buy the puff Shiseido sells for it. And that it is comfortable "around the delicate eye area": a foundation puff is not an eye-area tool.

How to Use
- Start with a clean, dry puff.

- Wash it when you are finished, squeeze the water out without twisting, and dry it flat.

Cautions
- Wash it. A foundation sponge collects sebum and product and becomes a bacterial surface within days; an unwashed puff is a common cause of breakouts blamed on the foundation.
- Wash with lukewarm water and a mild soap or brush cleaner. Squeeze — never wring or twist, which tears the foam.
- Dry flat and fully before it goes back in a closed case.
- Do not share it with anyone.

Can I use it with powder foundation?
It is made for emulsified foundation — liquid and cream. With powder it will work after a fashion and pick up too much at once. A powder-specific puff is a better tool and costs about the same.
Wet or dry?
Dry for this one. Shiseido specifies wet-and-dry use on the puffs where it applies — the 107 for the Emulsion Pact, for example. This is not one of them.
