Description
Spa Treatment Anti-Aging Lotion — Hydrating Lotion for Mature Skin, 120 ml
Overview
A salon-line anti-aging lotion (toner) for mature, dry skin, built on a hydrating base of hyaluronic acid, ceramides and beta-glucan, with collagen and elastin actives aimed at surface smoothness. It is the first leave-on step after cleansing.
The formula centres on the manufacturer's HAS stem-cell-conditioned-medium active, which is human-derived; for that reason it cannot lawfully be sold in the EU. Please read the Cautions and FAQ before ordering. See also our Japanese toners and lotions.
Spa Treatment is a professional skincare line from the Japanese manufacturer Wave Corporation, sold mainly through salons and aesthetic clinics in Japan. The eX range is its salon-grade tier.

Full Ingredients
The lotion adds hydrating and firmness-support actives to the shared series base: hyaluronic acid, placenta extract, hydrolysed collagen, water-soluble collagen, hydrolysed elastin and ceramides.
Origin flag: placenta extract, collagen and elastin are animal-derived (Japanese placenta is typically porcine), so this is not vegan and raises a halal concern — see the FAQ.
HAS complex — a conditioned-medium ingredient the manufacturer describes as “repeatedly selected, filtered and cultivated stem cells” carrying a mix of growth factors. See the human-origin note below and the dedicated FAQ; this is the reason the product cannot lawfully be sold in the EU.
Common actives across the series, as named by the manufacturer:
- Homeo Age — a nutrient complex the maker describes as minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates and amino acids.
- Reforcil — a plant-derived complex (from Gynostemma pentaphyllum and rockrose) that the maker associates with barrier support.
- Beta-glucan — a humectant polysaccharide used for surface hydration.
- Grape-vine, artichoke-leaf and soy-seed extracts — plant antioxidants included in the “three anti-aging components” the maker names.
This is an actives list, not a complete INCI. Read the full list printed on the Japanese carton; if you have a specific allergy, message us before ordering and we will read the label for you.
Ingredient list as declared by the manufacturer. Formulations are occasionally revised, so always read the list printed on the package you receive.
Cautions
- Contains an ingredient derived from cultured human cells. Ingredients of human origin are not permitted in cosmetics sold in the European Union (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, Annex II). This is a Japanese domestic cosmetic and is offered on that basis; if you are ordering into the EU, please read the FAQ below before you buy.
- Contains animal-derived actives (placenta, collagen, elastin) — not vegan.
- This is a hydration step, not a sunscreen — use a separate SPF in the daytime.
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

FAQ
Where does this lotion fit in a routine?
It is the lotion (toner) step: use it first on cleansed skin to hydrate, then layer a serum and a cream. The matching essence and cream in the same series are designed to follow it, but it also works before products you already use.
The description mentions “150 growth factors” — does this rebuild my skin?
That figure is the manufacturer's description of the conditioned-medium ingredient, not a measured result on your skin. A cosmetic applied to the surface is not a medical treatment, and we make no claim that it regenerates tissue, rebuilds collagen or reverses ageing. Treat it as a hydrating, antioxidant-supported leave-on step, and judge it on how your skin looks and feels.
This contains a human-derived ingredient — what does that mean for me?
It means the active is grown from cultured human cells rather than from a plant or an animal. Japan permits this class of ingredient in cosmetics and regulates it; the European Union does not permit it at all, because Annex II of the EU Cosmetics Regulation prohibits cells, tissues and products of human origin in cosmetic products. That prohibition is about the risk of transmitting disease through human-sourced material, and it applies regardless of how the ingredient performs. Practically: this is a Japanese domestic product, we ship it as such, and an EU customs authority may take a view on it. It is also, unavoidably, neither vegan nor acceptable under most halal interpretations. If any of that is a problem for you, we would rather you knew before ordering than after.
Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
No. Two separate issues apply. First, the HAS active is human-derived, which is not acceptable under most halal interpretations and is not vegan. Second, the lotion also contains placenta extract, collagen and elastin, which are animal-derived and, for placenta especially, typically porcine. There is no halal certification. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?
The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market. The ingredient list and directions on this page are translated from that labelling. If anything on the box is unclear after delivery, send us a photo and we will translate it for you.
