How to Use
- Start with a completely dry face and dry hands. Water stops the gel pilling and it will simply slide around.
- Dispense one to two pumps.
- Massage over the face with light fingertip circles for thirty to sixty seconds. Let the gel do the work — pressing harder does not exfoliate more, it just irritates.
- Avoid the eye area and the lips.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then apply lotion while the skin is still damp.
Frequency: Once or twice a week at most. Do not use it on the same day as an acid exfoliant.

None of those four appear in the declared ingredient list above. Cautions
- Contains cetrimonium chloride, a cationic surfactant that is irritating to the eyes. Keep the gel well away from the eye area and rinse immediately with plenty of water if it gets in.
- Do not press hard or massage for longer than about a minute. More friction does not remove more — it reddens skin.
- Do not use on inflamed, broken, sunburned or freshly shaved skin.
- Do not use on the same day as acid exfoliants, retinoids or any other peeling product.
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

FAQ
Are those crumbs really my dead skin?
Mostly no, and we would rather tell you than let you believe otherwise. In a gel built on carbomer with a cationic surfactant like cetrimonium chloride, friction makes the polymer and the surfactant coagulate into soft crumbs — the pilling is largely the product itself, gathering up whatever surface oil and debris it meets on the way. You can demonstrate this on the back of a clean hand, or on a bathroom tile, and get crumbs either way. This matters practically: people who believe the crumbs measure how much dead skin they have tend to rub longer and harder to produce more, and end up with irritated skin. The gel does give a smoother surface and a gentle cleanse. It just is not a readout of your skin's condition.
So is it worth using?
As a gentle occasional smoothing and cleansing step, yes — particularly if acids and scrubs have irritated you, since this has neither. Set your expectations at 'mild and pleasant' rather than 'resurfacing', use it once or twice a week, and it earns its place. If you want measurable exfoliation, an AHA product such as the Spa Treatment Peel Lotion does that job, with the sun-protection commitments that come with it.
The description used to mention chlorella, cucumber and aloe. Where are they?
Not in the declared ingredient list, which is why we removed them from the description. The manufacturer's marketing copy names those extracts, but the ingredient declaration for this gel lists water, PEG-8, carbomer, cetrimonium chloride, PEG-75, urea, brown sugar extract and glycerin — and nothing else. We have flagged the discrepancy with the supplier. Until it is resolved, we would rather show you the shorter list that is actually declared.
Why does it have to go on dry skin?
Because the pilling reaction needs friction between the gel and the skin. Any water — wet hands, a damp face, humid air straight after a shower — lets the gel slip instead of gathering, and you will get the impression the product is not working. Dry hands, dry face, then rinse.
Is this an authentic Japanese product?
