How to Use
- Use in the evening, after cleansing and lotion.
- Dispense about half a pipette or a small pea-sized amount.
- Warm between the fingertips, then press gently over the face — do not rub retinol products in hard.
- Start with two or three evenings a week and build up only if your skin stays comfortable.
- Follow with a cream if you need it, and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning while you are using this product.
Frequency: Evenings only, starting at two to three times a week. Retinol and morning sun do not mix well.

Cautions
- Contains an ingredient derived from cultured human cells. Ingredients of human origin are not permitted in cosmetics sold in the European Union (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, Annex II). This is a Japanese domestic cosmetic and is offered on that basis; if you are ordering into the EU, please read the FAQ below before you buy.
- Contains retinol. Do not use if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. High-dose oral vitamin A is associated with birth defects, and the standard advice in pregnancy is to avoid topical retinoids as a precaution. Speak to your doctor or midwife.
- Retinol increases the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily throughout the period you use this product, and for some weeks afterwards.
- Contains sweet almond oil — a tree nut. Do not use if you have a nut allergy.
- Do not layer with other retinoids, strong acids or benzoyl peroxide in the same routine unless a dermatologist has told you to. Mild dryness or flaking in the first fortnight is common; persistent burning is not.
- Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
- Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
- Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.

FAQ
This contains a human-derived ingredient — what does that mean for me?
It means the active is grown from cultured human cells rather than from a plant or an animal. Japan permits this class of ingredient in cosmetics and regulates it; the European Union does not permit it at all, because Annex II of the EU Cosmetics Regulation prohibits cells, tissues and products of human origin in cosmetic products. That prohibition is about the risk of transmitting disease through human-sourced material, and it applies regardless of how the ingredient performs. Practically: this is a Japanese domestic product, we ship it as such, and an EU customs authority may take a view on it. It is also, unavoidably, neither vegan nor acceptable under most halal interpretations. If any of that is a problem for you, we would rather you knew before ordering than after.
What do exosomes actually do in a skincare product?
Exosomes are small vesicles that cells release, and in the body they do carry material between cells — that part is real biology. What is not established is that exosomes applied to intact skin in a cosmetic cross the skin barrier and go on to signal your own cells. The barrier is very good at keeping particles of that size out, which is largely the point of having one. So we describe this as a well-formulated moisturising essence that also contains niacinamide and retinol, both of which have solid evidence behind them, rather than repeating the cell-communication story the old description told.
Can I use this if I am pregnant?

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?
