How to Use

1. Wet your face and hands with lukewarm water.
2. Squeeze a small amount — roughly the size of a large pea — into wet palms.
3. Work it into a proper lather first. The foam, not your fingers, should contact the skin.
4. Massage over the face in light circular motions for about twenty seconds, avoiding the eye area.
5. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and follow with lotion while the skin is still damp.

Frequency: Once or twice daily. If your skin is dry, use it in the evening only and rinse with water in the morning.

FAQ

This contains a human-derived ingredient — what does that mean for me?

It means the active is grown from cultured human cells rather than from a plant or an animal. Japan permits this class of ingredient in cosmetics and regulates it; the European Union does not permit it at all, because Annex II of the EU Cosmetics Regulation prohibits cells, tissues and products of human origin in cosmetic products. That prohibition is about the risk of transmitting disease through human-sourced material, and it applies regardless of how the ingredient performs. Practically: this is a Japanese domestic product, we ship it as such, and an EU customs authority may take a view on it. It is also, unavoidably, neither vegan nor acceptable under most halal interpretations. If any of that is a problem for you, we would rather you knew before ordering than after.

The old description mentioned 150 growth factors, including EGF and VEGF. Where did that go?

We removed it. Naming growth factors such as EGF, FGF or VEGF and attributing effects to them describes a biological mechanism, which is a medical claim rather than a cosmetic one — and in a product you rinse off after twenty seconds, contact time makes such claims particularly hard to support. What we can tell you is what is in the tube, which is the ingredient list above.

Does the clay really shrink pores?

No, and we have removed that line from the old description too. Pore size is largely determined by genetics and by how much oil the pore produces; nothing you rinse off changes the structure. What a clay cleanser can genuinely do is remove the oil and debris sitting in the pore opening, which makes pores look less obvious for a while. That is a real, visible, temporary effect, and it is worth having — it just is not the same thing as shrinking a pore.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

It is neither vegan nor suitable under most halal interpretations: the formula contains hydrolysed collagen of animal origin and the HAS component of human origin. The product carries no halal certification — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.

The packaging is in Japanese — how do I know what I am using?

The carton and bottle carry Japanese-language labelling, because this is stock made for the Japanese domestic market.
