How to Use
- Cleanse and pat the skin dry.

A cosmetic does not have, and may not claim, a hormonal action on the body, so you will not find that here. The same copy credits beta-glucan with reducing ultraviolet skin damage — this product has no sun protection factor and is not a sunscreen — and describes the growth factors in the extract as restoring youth and reactivating skin. That description circulates widely with the word "human" left out of it, which is why it is worth stating plainly. It is the defining ingredient of the line, and we think it belongs in the first paragraph rather than in a footnote.
Is it halal, or suitable for vegans?
No. Two ingredients rule it out: the HAS extract is of human origin, and the formula contains placenta extract whose source species the brand does not publish. There is no halal, kosher or vegan certification for this product. If any of that matters to you, please treat it as unsuitable rather than assume.
Can I have it shipped to the EU?
That is a question we cannot answer for you, and we would rather say so. Annex II of the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation lists human cells, tissues and products thereof among prohibited substances in cosmetics. How that applies to a parcel sent to a private address is not something we can rule on. Does the soy extract have a hormonal effect?
No. Retail copy for this line states that the soybean seed extract "has hormonal action on the female body". A topically applied cosmetic does not have a hormonal action on the body, and claiming one is not permitted. Soy extracts are used in skincare as antioxidants and conditioning agents; that is what this one is doing here.
What is the difference between this lotion and a serum?
Position in the routine and viscosity. This is the toning step: it goes on straight after cleansing, on damp skin, and its job is to hydrate and prepare. A serum goes on afterwards and carries the concentrated actives. Spa Treatment's line is designed to be layered, so the lotion is not an alternative to the serum but the step before it.
