How to Use

1. Cleanse and apply your lotion; leave the skin damp

The manufacturer publishes this as a fullerene concentrate and does not release a ranked INCI list for the international market. Fullerene in cosmetics is supplied as a dispersion — most commonly fullerene in squalane, or a water-dispersible fullerene and polyvinylpyrrolidone complex — carried in a base of water and humectants. Cautions

• Patch test on the inner forearm before first use, especially if your skin is reactive.
• Discontinue use and consult a doctor if redness, itching, swelling or persistent stinging occurs.
• Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
• Do not apply to broken, sunburned or actively inflamed skin.
• Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
• The previous description credited fullerene with lightening age spots, reducing melanin synthesis, eliminating skin inflammation, preventing allergic reactions, eliminating acne and protecting against ultraviolet damage. Those are medical and drug-level claims on a cosmetic and we have removed all of them.
• An antioxidant is not a sunscreen. The previous description said fullerene "protects skin from ultraviolet damage" — antioxidants can mop up some of the free radicals UV generates, which is a real and useful secondary effect, but they do not block or absorb ultraviolet light and they do not reduce your need for SPF by a single point. Use sunscreen.
• A concentrate is not automatically better because it is concentrated. Introduce it on its own for a week before adding anything else new, so you know what is responsible if your skin reacts.
• Keep the bottle closed and out of direct light — a 10 ml bottle used twice a day is open often.

What is fullerene and does the science hold up?

Fullerene is a genuine and interesting molecule — a hollow sphere of sixty carbon atoms, whose discovery won the 1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. In laboratory tests it scavenges free radicals very efficiently; the widely quoted figures, around ten times coenzyme Q10 and around one hundred and seventy-two times vitamin C, come from the ingredient's manufacturer, Vitamin C60 BioResearch, and describe in-vitro radical-scavenging assays. What those numbers do not describe is what happens on a human face over months. An in-vitro antioxidant ratio is not a skin result, and cosmetic chemists have said so about this particular figure. Treat fullerene as a well-made antioxidant ingredient with a good laboratory profile and a thin clinical one.

What should I realistically expect from a fullerene serum?

An antioxidant step, used daily, whose benefit is preventive rather than corrective — it works against oxidative damage accumulating, not on damage already visible. Expect no immediate change in the mirror. If you want a visible result on pigmentation or texture, the ingredients with a real clinical record for that are retinoids, vitamin C at meaningful concentrations, and exfoliating acids, and none of those is what you are buying here.

Can I use it with vitamin C or a retinoid?

Yes, and pairing an antioxidant with vitamin C in the morning is a common and sensible combination. With a retinoid, apply the fullerene first and the retinoid after, and introduce them a week apart so that if something stings you know which one it was. There is no known interaction that makes fullerene unsafe alongside either.

Is this product halal or suitable for vegans?

The declared ingredient list is plant- and mineral-derived, with no animal ingredients, so it fits a vegan routine. It carries no halal certification, however — Japanese domestic cosmetics are rarely certified — so if certification itself matters to you, this product does not have it.
