Overview
The placenta variant of KOSE's Clear Turn White pack: five sachets, one sheet each. Two things should be said before anything else.
First, this variant is no longer in KOSE's line-up. The Clear Turn White range today runs vitamin C, tranexamic acid, collagen and hyaluronic acid. What we have is end-of-line stock, which is not a problem in itself — the pack is sealed and dated — but it does mean there is no current maker page, and therefore no approved active and no ingredient declaration we can quote to you.
Second, placenta extract is animal-derived and KOSE does not publish the source species for this variant. If that matters to you — for religious reasons, because you avoid animal-derived cosmetics, or because you want to know what you are putting on your face — buy one of the two current masks in the same line instead. We would rather say that plainly than sell you this one on a guess.
A word on what 美白 (bihaku) means on a Japanese label. The approved claim is preventing spots and freckles caused by sun exposure, by limiting melanin production. It is not a claim to fade pigment that is already there, and the English word "whitening" does not change the skin's own colour. How to Use
- Cleanse, then prepare the skin with your usual toner.
- Open one sachet, unfold the sheet and lay it on the face, matching the eye and mouth openings.
- Smooth it down from the centre outwards so no air is trapped along the nose and jaw.
- Leave it on for the time on the pack, then lift the sheet off and discard it. Do not rinse.
- Press the remaining essence in with the palms, then seal with an emulsion or cream.
Frequency: KOSE sells this as a 5回分 pack — five uses. One or two sheets a week alongside daily sunscreen is the pattern the pack is built for; it is not a daily mask.

We are not able to publish an ingredient declaration for this variant, and we are not going to improvise one. The Placenta mask is no longer listed in KOSE's Clear Turn White line-up — the range now runs Vitamin C, Tranexamic Acid, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid — so there is no current maker page carrying its 有効成分 or its 全成分.
What is certain: it contains placenta extract, which is animal-derived. KOSE does not publish the source species for this variant. If you avoid animal-derived ingredients, or need a formal assurance about the source, buy the Vitamin C or Tranexamic Acid mask from the same line instead — both are plant and mineral only, and both are linked above. The full declaration is printed on the Japanese box.
KOSE's own suggestion, and one most translations leave out: the sealed sachet can be floated in a 40 °C bath for about five minutes to warm it, or chilled in the fridge. Warm for a winter evening, cold for a summer morning or after sun exposure.
Cautions
- For external use only. Avoid the eye area; if the product gets into the eyes, rinse at once with water or lukewarm water.
- Do not use on skin with wounds, swelling, eczema, sunburn or any other abnormality.
- Patch test before the first full-face use: apply a little to the inner forearm and leave it 24 hours.
- Stop using it and speak to a dermatologist if redness, swelling, itching, stinging or any other reaction appears during use or afterwards. Continuing can make it worse.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Close the pack after use and store away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.

FAQ
Will this fade the dark spots I already have?
No, and any page that says it will is overselling it. The Japanese 美白 claim these masks hold is prevention: limiting melanin production so that sun exposure produces fewer new spots and freckles. Existing pigment is a different problem, and the honest answers to it are time, sun avoidance, and in some cases a dermatologist.
Why can't you tell me what is in it?
Because KOSE no longer publishes it. This variant has left the Clear Turn White line-up, and with it went the maker page that carried the approved active and the ingredient declaration. We could copy a list off a reseller and present it as the formula, and we are not going to do that. The declaration on the Japanese box is the authoritative one, and if you need it before deciding, message us and we will read it off the stock in hand.
Can I leave the mask on longer than the pack says?
No. Once the sheet starts to dry it takes moisture back off the skin instead of giving it. The time on the pack is the point at which to remove it, not a minimum.
Do I still need sunscreen?
Yes, and more than you need the mask. A 美白 active limits how much melanin the skin makes; sunscreen limits the UV that asks it to. Using the mask without daily sun protection is treating the symptom and leaving the cause running.
Is it authentic, and where is it shipped from?
It is bought in Japan for the Japanese market and shipped from our own stock in Kobe. The box is in Japanese. Processing takes two to six business days and a tracking number follows dispatch; transit time after that depends on the shipping method you choose at checkout, so we do not quote a single delivery figure.
