Peptides in cosmetics are an area where marketing tends to run ahead of the evidence, so we will be careful with our wording. The name is a play on 糖化 (glycation), the sugar-and-protein reaction the whole series is positioned around, and the same eleven botanicals run through every product in the line.

How to Use

1. Take a grain-of-rice-sized amount on the ring finger of each hand
2. Dot it along the orbital bone: three below the eye, one at the outer corner, one between brow and eye
3. Tap it in gently with the ring finger — no rubbing, no pressing hard
4. Stay on the bone. Do not apply to the mobile eyelid or to the inner corner
5. Use it morning and evening; in the morning let it settle before sunscreen

FAQ

What do the six peptides actually do?

They are cosmetic ingredients used in eye formulations for the appearance of fine lines, firmness and puffiness. We are going to stop short of the mechanism claims that usually accompany them — you will see acetyl hexapeptide-8 described as relaxing facial muscles and acetyl tetrapeptide-5 as acting on vascular permeability. Those are pharmacological descriptions, they are not what a cosmetic is permitted to promise, and we would rather be straight with you than impressive.

Does it contain three types of collagen?

Two. The INCI lists Collagen and Soluble Collagen. Atelocollagen is not in it. AXXZIA markets the line around type XVII collagen care — care directed at type XVII collagen, which is a protein your own skin produces. It is not an ingredient in the jar, and any page saying the cream contains type XVII collagen is wrong.

How long before I see a difference?

Give it two to three months of twice-daily use before judging. Hydration and smoothness usually show first. Peptide eye creams are slow products and a fortnight will tell you nothing except whether your skin tolerates it.

Can I put it on my eyelids?
